The room was dirty..stains on the net curtains and on the bath robe, which didnt smell fresh either! Sofa bed uncomfortable (for a 12 year old), he said the matress was thin. For what i paid, there are nicer, more central hotels..i didn't have the breakfast, we went to the Judges Lodgings, which is also a hotel (wish wed stayed there), the breakfast was cheaper and the service was out of this world.staff at the slightly run down Middleton hotel were miserable..apart from.the barman..who was very pleasant..

The location is literally a 5 minute walk from the town so ideally placed. It has good car parking spaces which cost £12 to use, but the local car parks are very expensive. The breakfast was a little dissapointing as the cooked breakfast had no hash browns. We never used the gym but i had a look and it had a vast range of equipment to use. The bar was reasonably priced, and had a cosy, chilled athmosphere. On the whole it was a nice stay

Excellent staff. Special mention to Correen on Reception & the lady who looked after us at Breakfast. Room was perfect, breakfast very tasty. All our interaction with staff was professional and friendly

This was a convenient place for us to stay for all we wanted to do on our visit. A short walk from the station and close to the city centre. The original part of the building is very interesting from a local history perspective.

Nice long weekend trip with family. Good location, spacious room and friendly staff. Pretty outdoor areas. Enjoyed the tapas meal although it did take a long time to arrive and then we were given the wrong bill. Other than that, a lovely stay and would be happy to return

Great hotel. Highly recommend the gym facilities. The room was perfect and the on site restaurant was spectacular. I enjoyed the tapas menu. The ginger prawns were tasty and everything very reasonably priced! Breakfast options were also good and in room coffee is my favourite brand, so bonus!!!!

Great location for York visit. Very friendly staff and easy carparking a plus. Beautiful small gardens too.

Great location with just a short walk over the river to reach the city centre. Hotel was lovely. We booked a cosy double which was located across a small bridge in an external building, up a flight of stairs. The bathroom was extremely spacious with nice toiletries, and had a bath and shower cubicle. A good selection of tea and coffee bags were also provided along with ginger biscuits as part of the room. The room also had a TV, mini fridge, a good size wardrobe, two bathrobes and slippers, and free WiFi using a sign in. The bed was really comfortable and large enough for a couple. The room and bathroom were heated by radiators with a tall fan cooler provided. The room opened and locked with actual key rather than card. The car park was on two levels - a few spaces as you drove in, then the rest down a short steep hill on the hotel level. There aren't many places so suggest arriving earlier as its first come first serve. We went on a weekday so there were ample spaces. There were also about 4 electric EON car charging spaces. On to the not so great. The room was smaller than expected with a more than required large bathroom, which was about the size of the room itself. We stayed two nights, however the bedsheets and towels were not replaced. The toilet rolls were behind the toilet so hard to reach, I had to put a roll on the floor to use each time I went to the bathroom. No extra pillows were provided in the room. It was an ok stay, but the location was the real benefit.

Had a wonderful long weekend. Weather was good. Hotel was excellent. It was close to all amenities and the breakfast was very comprehensive.

Lovely hotel, ideally placed location wise for exploring York and surrounding areas. Parking a bonus, lovely bar, lounge area, good breakfast, friendly informative staff, and clean comfortable rooms. Was able to check in early so added bonus. Special mention to Corinne & Dean on reception for busy so helpful

Great place to stay in York in close proximity to downtown area. Afternoon tea was delicious!

The hotel is very nice with a good location and a very wide choice of breakfast. The downside was the cleanliness,the bedroom was very dusty, especially the side bed where there were also glass stains.

Friendly professional welcome and responsive helpful staff throughout. Nice room, decent bed and bathroom. Well situated for short walk into town centre.

The room was lovely, with a comfortable bed and good shower. The breakfast is terrible though, slow service and poor quality food. I'd stay here but eat elsewhere!

I stayed here for one night and was a super location - easy walk from the train station and was also easy to get to the main city centre. The reception is open 24 hours which is something I like when travelling alone. The reception staff were friendly at check in and check out , and also when I asked for a last minute late check out. The room itself was just what I needed for one night, and I had a lovely view. Had tea/coffee/hot choc and biscuits. The toiletries were white company and smelt lovely. There is also a really fluffy robe which was so cosy. The main selling point of this room though is the bed which is so so comfortable- and didn’t want to get out of it (hence arranging the late check out!)

Really nice hotel, great rooms and food in the restaurant.

It was a bit of a tired hotel - lots of old furnishings with chipped wood and paint. The shower also didn’t get hot and we flagged this to reception but it didn’t get fixed.
