The hotel is starting to show signs of use- chipped walls, dust, broken blinds, etc. the bed was comfy- however there were a few stains on the blanket and sheets. There was only one hot tub that was functional for our entire 5 day stay. I will say the rooms are small, and it seems they have to “upgrade” rooms such as suites. The staff are EXCELLENT both times I called the front desk for extra things they were brought to my room within 10 minutes. The location is also a highlight!

Great location. Right downtown close to everything. Parking is a little small other than that the hotel was great.

Great staff, very welcoming

Pros: Great location and that’s about it. Cons: Come here if you want to wake up with a broken neck. Booked a king bed, and received cushion sized pillows - something I’ve never seen before. I called to asked for normal pillows and they said they have none. Already our night went terrible without good sleep. Has only two small outdoor hot tubs of which one was broken and I received an email one day before our stay informing us. Went upstairs to use it and there were already 10 people crammed into it. Don’t book this hotel if you want to value that as an experience. Expect a bad view (the building wraps around itself) unless you pay extra.

The hotel is a little outdated, but location is a plus, limited parking but cheaper than surrounding options. Hotel restaurant is excellent and fairly priced, their breakfast French toast are amazing. Staff is courteous and attentive. Will stay again.

The Mount Royal is in such a great lo action in Banff. Clean and lovely.

Only one of the two hot tubs were working, and they are small and can only sit 8. The walls were thin and you can easily hear people in the streets. The hotel did provide ear plugs. Parking wasn't great. Positives, the rooms are a good size and the staff were amazing and friendly.

Great location, good rooms, hot tubs over-crowded and could never actually use them.

Hotel and staff were great. Location is excellent but rooms facing street side are noisy. People were out yelling and partying on the Banff Ave until 1am (thus the ear plugs provided by the hotel left in your room). Next time we stay we will request a room on the parking lot side. We lreally liked our stay, minus noise at night. Staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Very friendly staff and the room was very clean, location is amazing and very walkable to lots of restaurants and shopping. Would definitely stay here again!

Recently spent a night at the Mount Royal Hotel. The location is fantastic. There are multiple restaurants, pubs, and shops within a couple of blocks. The room was clean and the staff friendly. The rooftop hot tubs have a great view of the mountains. If you want to be near the action and don’t mind a little noise I would highly recommend.
