I traveled to Hartford, CT for business and chose this hotel due to the location of my job. While the location was very close to eateries, a few bars, and easily able to order if I chose not to leave; the hotel itself needs an upgrade in both cleanliness and property upgrades. Upon checking in I was greeted by a pleasant gentleman who quickly checked me in with no problems and assigned my room. But the key card system is outdated and finicky. I had to switch it out twice within my 3 day stay. My room was sloppy and it was apparent the tub had not been cleaned as there was hair in the tub and some film on the sink. I had to purchase some cleaner to do it myself but of course I was a little irritated. The next morning I asked housekeeping for a comforter but she said she didn’t understand me so I used my translator app to assist. She then brings me a sheet and I asked again for something heavier as she continued her conversation but she kept saying she didn’t know what I was asking for. I left it alone and thanked her anyway. The end of the workday I came back to my room and it had not been cleaned or touched by housekeeping which was weird because they were cleaning my floor when I asked for the comforter earlier in the day. Upon showering I noticed again my linen had not been changed out. The next morning the front desk was polite, the morning breakfast was lack luster, and the gym was out of order. Check out process was simple and pleasant.

Close to everything downtown

The location was right next to train and major bus route which made things noisy. The area felt a bit unsafe and the whole hotel felt dated and neglected.

Adequate if you need to stay conveniently close to Hartford train station. Easy check in and responsive night clerk. Very basic accommodations and tiny bathroom.

To keep it brief, if you're looking for a place to just hide away for a day or two, this would be the place to go. On average, the place is just say renovated Red roof inn (literally) with different color schemes. Halls are very cramped and obviously very close corridors. To say this place has thin walls would be an understatement. Upon checking in I couldn't even access the Wi-Fi. If you can manage to handle the train station next to the hotel, it should be a halfway decent experience in the end.

I wish I got the front end lady name but she was quick a super nice. The rooms were clean and warm upon arrival.

Pretty desent place to stay

We loved our room with a view of the lovely 19th C. Capitol building and a snowy Bushnell Park. The hotel is conveniently located for Amtrak travelers & walkable to everything in downtown Hartford. Check out Hartford Stage & the Wadsworth Atheneum if you come to Hartford—both a short walk from the hotel. Also very close: Black Eyed Sally’s Southern Kitchen.

The property was very convenient to AMTRAK and to the concert hall. The staff were pleasant. Our room was tucked behind the fire tower stairs. There was a thin blanket on the bed. The top sheet was for a smaller bed. This is Connecticut in January! The bath tub was repaired with a 3x10 inch piece of tape which had black mold on it.The heater worked well. The bathroom mirror could only be used by a tall man.The room had no phone, even though the guest book provided phone numbers. According to the sign on the back of the door, the room rate is $309 per night! I've had better accommodations at a motel! For what I paid for this hotel room, I expected much more luxurious accommodations. This was not worth the money I paid.

It was average… nothing special.

Not ever staying here again. The bed is so uncomfortable and hard, that would rather sleep on the floor. Rooms and bathroom were small. Had to unplug the HVAC unit bc there was no way to turn it off. Not enough parking in the underground garage they have, which has the tightest spiraling ramp anyways. Breakfast was scheduled until 9am, but they ran out of everything by 830-845am. The only positive thing was our view of the capital building out of our window, which was pretty.

It was clean and peaceful

First room smelled heavily of marijuana, floor was sticky and barhroom ceiling was leaving. When I asked for another room Iwas told they were sold out. However, when I requested a discount instead, a room magically became available. The underground garage is small and difficult to maneuver large vehicles not to mention it's need for repair.

Staff was very nice and acompassing. Especially for NYE. Parking is very reasonable. $15. Rooms are tidy and have a fridge and microwave. Which was a major plus. Would have liked to see a bed skirt on the beds. Something about seeing a box spring irks me a bit. A little outdated but good for the price.

The tv and phone didn't work, charges a early check in fee

Good place to live

We were greeted by a very friendly staff. The lobby was clean and comfy looking. The breakfast was also very good, lots of choices. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. Our backs are still recovering. There was hair all over the bed and bathroom. The water was hot. But the plumbing left a lot to be desired. Toilets didn’t flush properly. Over all, you get what you pay for. An inexpensive hotel close to all the action.
