The mattress was knackered, so uncontrollably to lie on, when you can feel the springs almost digging into your body. I had to lay on top of the duvet, to give myself another layer, between myself and the matress. When it comes to the condition of the matress, its the chance you take with Britannia and a lot of other independent hotels. The rest of the room/bathroom was good, with plenty of toiletries provided, along with tea/coffee making facilities.

Bar was nice, food was a good choice. Buffet menu when I stayed but good selection, staff were helpful. No beach view but room was bigger than I expected.

Lovely view , big room , plenty of tea, coffee and other bits like toiletries . It was alittle cold and the wind did make the door shake but once wedged it was fine , thank you for a lovely stay xxx

Ideal for what we needed. Clean tidy and not to expensive. Excellent location. After reading recent reviews i was pleasantly surprised.

Bit sad needs decorating especially the windows in the room need painting.

The room was okay but the window seals could do with a good clean and the skirtings apart from that it was ok.

Large room with sea view and access to balcony with chairs and table. Room simply furnished, good bathroom. We had problems charging our phones and the bedside lamps did not work. The 3 course buffet dinner menu @ £15 was cheap reflected in the choice of food.

The room was a bit musty. But hotel staff was nice.

It was due for myself but my friend ruined my trip when I had the kindness to allow my friend to come with me when my friend became aggressive with the receptionist who was trying to do her job and I felt like telling my friend to shut up and because my friend was so aggressive with the receptionist she cancelled our stay and my trip was ruined so I made my friend come back to London and go back home in Essex and anyone messes with me they get their reset button.

The hotel has a great location, had a great view of the sea, but is very tired/dated. Breakfast was truly awful. Definitely not worth the extra money - not even a decent coffee (served luke warm out of pump flasks). We felt like we were an inconvenience to the staff

Friendly staff. Basic room, but ok for one night and great price

The room (209)we were given was lovely, but my mattress on one of the twin beds needed changing. I could feel the springs. The outside of the hotel needs thorough clean, if not decorating. The blue tiles at the entrance of the hotel would still be stunning if washed.

We had a nice stay, staff were friendly polite and attentive. However the building its self is looking tired, carpets in hall ways had many stains. The room was sufficient but dated. Shower was powerful. Bed was comfortable, plenty of tea and coffee to enjoy. The room needed decorating, odd bits painted near the ceiling, some in grey against the white started not finished. Wall paper coming off the wall. Lamp shades dented. Window broken Housekeeping could be better back of bathroom door filthly from hands and light switches dirty. This may sound picky but for £165 for the night i feel i have the right to be. As this was not a cheap stay. Breakfast was very nice plenty of choices which was a buffet style.
