We stayed three nights in the Grand Lodge for a long weekend and I can definitely say that it was not worth the price. Everything looks old and worn, as if there were no improvements nor investments since they opened. The room was ok, size and comfort wise, however the furniture was very worn, the walls with a desperate need of new paint coat and the fully equipped kitchen was missing many basic items we had to ask for. The swimming pool was extremely cold, which made it impossible to swim in, so everyone was in the hot tub including rude kids and parents disrespecting every rule, playing with balls and shouting. There was no personnel at all in the swimming pool and gym area, so there were wet kids playing with the gym machines and equipment, nowhere to put the wet towels so they were all piled up on a table, or even to wipe the floor a bit, so everything was dangerously slippery. The so called playroom was just a regular conference room with two table tennis tables missing their nets, a foosball with missing parts and other random games. Finally, the last night we wanted to try the restaurant but they closed it that very same night for maintenance for a couple of weeks… in the middle of a long weekend. So with a swimming pool that was impossible to swim in, a shabby playroom, no kayaks because they were not ready yet and not even a place to eat, you are forced to find services and things to do somewhere else, especially with kids.

Beautiful lake view. Excellent dining. Friendly staff.

Perfect for families. The kitchen supplies are minimal so I wouldn’t plan on cooking any involved meals, but enough supplies for simple items. Kids running in the hallways. The room was very clean and had a beautiful view of the lake. I’m glad I upgraded to the lakefront view. We didn’t utilize the restaurant or spa so I cannot comment there, but would stay again.

The view was wonderful as was our room with the exception of the bed which was very worn out.

Excellent loved the chargers

I've stayed here over 10 times over the last 15 years. In the past 2 years, I've experienced less than great stays at this resort. Tradition makes it I want to go back, but I'll book someplace else for next year I think. The lodge is still a great building, its so beautiful on the lake, lighted up. The skating rink and through the forest is also such a great amenity. The staff are much less friendly than before - not sure why. The room was the standard suite, but many items were not functional or need updating e.g. the plugs are loose so you can't plug in chargers without them falling, the bath is plugged so water accumulates when you take shower and is slippery, some of the lights don't work (beside bed etc.), the fridge makes loud noises and the heating/cooling appliance runs all the time. So, not sure if its owner negligence or resort maintenance gaps, but a renovation is in order. We had dinner at the restaurant on the 1st night, ordered a brie as appetizer (it came not very warm/not melting), then we had the steak tartare which was good and my son had the chicken fingers and fries. The chicken fingers looked good, with light batter and 'real' fresh chicken - which is a nice change from frozen. That said, when he cut through one of the largest pieces after taking a few bites, he realized the chicken was RAW. We lost our appetite after that, and went to our rooms. She didn't charge us for the chicken but that was it, no apologies etc.

Big pool and hot tub indoors. Rooms are comfortable for 4. Furniture and rooms are dated and worn. Location is nice and close to the Hill. Beachfront in the summer. Will return.

The shuttle and location was excellent, but there was a lack of maintenance (blood stain on duvet and when we asked for replacement, the second one also had a pink stain.. and we only had housekeeping visit once during our 4 day stay, who came at 9am; play room had several large toys (pacman, foosball table, etc) but majority were broken. The hot tub has max 12 people limit and we never got a chance to use it as it was too busy and the restaurant is reservation only with cancellation penalty charge if cancelled within 24h. Overall we dont regret staying here but maintenance definitely could improve.

Nice hotel, very good location, friendly staff. Lots of activities for kids and the outside skating in the forest was very nice :) But the room ( deluxe suite, 3rd floor ) was tired and would really really need renovation… we thought it was quite expensive for what we got. We ate at restaurant, quite expensive also and good but not excellent : part of the main dish ( truit) was cold unfortunately and the filet mignon was good but not great... and service was kind of scarce.

skiing was great an the pool and ice skating rink outside the hotel were excellent
