Villa Sonia is one of those rare places that stays with you. Set in a historic 19th-century villa in Castelmola, it is absolutely worth the winding drive up the mountain. The views are spectacular, and private parking is available for €10 per day. The villa is full of character and old-world charm, beautifully maintained with obvious care. The owners are present and welcoming, which adds a very personal feeling. Service was excellent, with a special thank you to David at reception for his warmth and attentiveness. Breakfast was excellent and the pool is beautiful. A few small things could be improved: better, more comfortable blankets, the sauna and jacuzzi were not in use during our stay, and I personally feel parking could be included in the room rate. Overall, an exceptionally memorable stay with atmosphere, soul, wonderful hospitality and excellent value for money.

We had one of the apartments down the hill. It was quite spacious with several bathrooms despite it having only one bed. The kitchen though was not very well equipped. Not even a cutting board. The apartment was okay, but could do with an upgrade. It comes with a huge terrace and the view is simply amazing. This was definitely the upside to the apartment. Going up and down the stairs from the hotel is tough and the whole area is really lacking an upgrade. Such a shame. We enjoyed the possibility to use the pool all though also here the sun beds had seen better days. The staff is very nice and helped in all matters.

Quang cảnh thực sự ngoạn mục — dễ dàng là một trong những nơi đẹp nhất mà tôi từng ở. Thêm vào đó, đồ ăn rất ngon và vượt quá mọi mong đợi. Mọi khía cạnh của trải nghiệm đều mang lại cảm giác thư giãn, sang trọng và đáng nhớ. Tôi rất khuyến khích mọi người đến khách sạn này nếu có dịp đến Taormina và chắc chắn tôi rất muốn quay lại đây vào một ngày nào đó!

This is our second consecutive stay at Villa Sonia and we’re already booked for next year, which that tells you everything. My wife and I absolutely love this place. Our room had a stunning Etna view and a lovely little Juliet balcony, perfect for taking in the view. The staff genuinely go out of their way to make you feel welcome, nothing is ever too much trouble. The pool and terrace are gorgeous and the whole setting in Castelmola is magical. If you’re considering it, just book it. You won’t regret it!!
