Friendly helpful staff, pleasant hotel for a very reasonable price. Breakfast was very good - good range of options, well stocked and tasted great.

There was water for us in the fridge that was much needed. Used the tea facilities in the morning too. Clean room but no extra blankets as quilt very thin.

Really unexpectedly was allocated the lovely Porchester Suite. Gerat experience to end our holiday.

Good staying

Very convenient for visiting family, although not much to do in immediate area. Hotel itself is very comfortable, clean and has all the facilities we need.

Decent stay overall. Good breakfast choices, nice rooms. Have to pay for parking and there is no swimming pool or sauna/steam room

Nice peaceful Hotel with a great restaurant and very comfortable bed. Tesco and McDonalds are a short walk for convenience .

The room was clean and to a high standard. The AC was a little weak as had to keep turning down to get cool. The dinner prices were high so decided to eat next door. The breakfast buffet was okay but had to wait 10mins for poached eggs and it was not busy. Plenty of parking which is great but have to pay £5 on top of bill!

Staff told me that the beds were being replaced and the one in my room was changed 3 days ago. Unfortunately it was extra firm and very uncomfortable. Unlike any other Marriott I have stayed at.

Amazing stay with small children. No faults to mention. Only very small downside was they didn’t offer bed guards for the kids as the beds were quite high. Other than that, clean safe space and we all enjoyed it and would stay again.

Convenient for me

Would not consider the Portsmouth Marriott to be a four star hotel. At check-in, we were informed of a £50 deposit that needed to be paid, which I had not seen listed anywhere when I booked. Not sure if having two children made the receptionist decide to add it on, but felt unnecessary. The beds were so uncomfortable. My 11 and 5 year old had no complaints but my husband and I both had an awful nights sleep. Parking is £5, wifi is extra… A lot of money making schemes that I don’t expect from a so-called four star hotel. Did not eat at the hotel, so unable to comment on food.

Overall we were pleased with the stay. Didnt give a 5 star but that was due to our preference for example the comfort of the bed, pillows or not enough places to hang towels in the bathroom. But the room was very tidy and we enjoyed the shower and breakfast.
