We booked this hotel as the one we stayed in the previous night was awful! This place is awesome! The most friendly staff, very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The apartment we booked was huge, well appointed and incredibly comfortable. We will definitely stay here for a longer stay next time we are up this way.

Excellent stay as always

Clearly a lovely building, but most of the rooms are in a separate part of the grounds. The whole thing is quite tacky and really doesn't scream luxury -- the "spa" is much more like a leisure centre. The room was spacious and comfortable, though clearly old-fashioned, and not entirely clean. The service was totally obstinate when we requested a change of dates, but quick to help when we were there. The hotel feels like it could be good for families with young children, but it is unmistakably a resort hotel, not a luxury one.

There was a problem with the cooker in the apartment, and they couldn’t get an electrician out, they did give us some money towards the restaurant

2 bedroom apartment, room 42, exceptional… and what a size. Great value for money … we were only a family of 4 but sleeps 6, brilliant for anyone with kids. Super clean and beds so comfortable.

Really nice massive rooms in a period building. We stayed as a family of 5 and even the sofa bed was comfortable.

Lovely country vibe and very peaceful. Incredible for a getaway and great location. Staff was really friendly and communicative throughout my stay. Room was clean and modern and had everything you needed!

Booked through hotels.com 2 months prior to stay, no where was it advertised that there would be no food available or even a bar open during our stay. There is no where that is walkable from the property either. Was told that frozen meals are available in hotel pantry/shop! Found the staff to be quite rude, despite calling ahead and being assured room would be available for our slightly early arrival (45 mins before 4pm check in) was

Something of a surprise gem. First impression was excellent and the friendliness of the staff was really refreshing and continued from start to finish (thank you). Excellent rooms with very comfortable beds and great bathrooms (shower particularly good). In goes without saying you need a car and should approach from Lancaster (some very narrow roads otherwise -don’t trust sat nav). Would definitely return.

Manor House set in lovely grounds complemented by friendly staff.

This was our third visit to the hotel, and once again, it didn’t disappoint. The estate is beautiful, with excellent facilities and a convenient location near Lancaster and the university. A truly comfortable and relaxing stay.

Staff were attentive and apartment was spacious and well equipped. Spa treatments were well priced and staff fantastic. Such a nice person. Highly recommend.
