Superb hospitality here and the staff were extremely helpful. The bed was comfortable and it was quiet. For those travelling by train, it takes about 25-30mins to walk into the centre of Reading, but is only 10 mins by bus and these are frequent. I stayed here on a work trip. I would have liked a bath to relax into at the end of a long day, but I guess you can't have everything!

Lovely friendly staff, on day one i was too late for the cleaners (my fault entirely), i left the hotel for the day and when i got back, my room had been cleaned. The cleaners must have stayed on especially to clean my room (much appreciated)

Felt welcome and excellent for business place to stay, close to city center

Stayed here for a concert at Englefield Estate which is only a 10 minute drive away. Offroad parking with plenty of spaces. Staff/owners are very welcoming and helpful. Room was spacious, clean, well equipped and on the quiet side of the hotel. Huge radiator which would make the room nice a toasty in the winter. Good size shower room. One complaint is the requirement to order breakfast by 0845 which is a bit early after arriving late the night before from the concert. Breakfast buffet with good selection and good cooked options although somewhat limited. A very enjoyable stay and would book again for a future concert.

Excellent hotel! Our stay was wonderful, the staff were incredible! The building itself is beautiful and the location was perfect. Breakfast was top notch. If I find myself in Reading again, will absolutely stay here.

Very helpful staff when I had to stay unexpectedly due to my wife’s admittance to hospital.

The staff was lovely and welcoming, the bed was comfortable and the fact that parking is available was very convenient. However I have to admit that the breakfast was a little disappointing in terms of choice. After checking out of my room, I had hoped to be able to go through some stuff with a colleague of mine, using the common area but was told that I had to vacate the hotel (not just my room) by 11am and was directed to the Beefeater across the road. Once there it was actually closed and we ended up having to sit outside. Fortunately the weather was ok… Although I would stay there again if needed, I think that the « wonderful » reviews are very misleading.

The staff were welcoming and very helpful. The hotel was spotless and the room and bed were very comfortable. Parking was available, which saved us £20 on the alternative places we'd considered for our stay and the location was convenient. Highly recommended.

One night stay for work. Was in room 9. Nice greeting from staff, room was pleasant and ensuite was good. TV okay and decaf tea bags provided as requested. Wifi was okay. I did not eat here as I was meeting a friend elsewhere.

Staff were particularly helpful and friendly. Will certainly use this hotel again.
