Struttura d'epoca ben tenuta, personale gentile e disponibile David Barsotti Shadow protocol

Die Lage und das Erscheinungsbild der Unterkunft ist sehr schön. Jedoch waren wir etwas enttäuscht, was unser Zimmer betraf. Die Räumlichkeit die wie für zwei Nächte hatten entsprach unserer Meinung keinem 4 Sterne Hotel. Es war wohl mal eine Garage gewesen. Das ist aber nicht der Punkt. Unser Toilettendeckel bzw. der Sitz war komplett locker. Nach Meldung bei der Rezeption hieß es, in 2 Stunden kommt jemand, dann doch nicht erst morgen und dann garnicht. Die Minibar die auf der eigenen Homepage angepriesen war fehlte auch, dafür hatten wir einen geräuschvollen Kühlschrank. Weiter gab es kein Tisch oder Sitz Mobiliar im Zimmer. Gläser oder die Möglichkeit im Zimmer einen Kaffee oder Tee zu zubereiten gab es auch nicht. Kurz um. Dieses Zimmer hält nicht was die eigene Homepage verspricht. Wie die anderen Zimmer sind wissen wir nicht. Frühstück war gut und sauber war es auch.

Underbart läge. Vackert. Skön pool. 10 min till Lucca. Tyvärr en restaurang som inte höll måttet. Sämsta maten på vår 2 veckors Italien resa.

Fantastisk utsikt. Lugnt och stilla. Restaurangen var dock inte alltför bra, helt okej utbud, men inte fantastiskt. Frukosten är helt okej. Trevlig personal. Rummet hade häftig utsikt, men vårt rum var för mycket källare och fuktigt med jordkällardoft. Härligt häng vid poolen.

Fantastisk utsikt, och vackert läge. Maten i restaurangen var dock dyr och det minst aptitliga vi ätit i Italien. Mögel i duschen, kackerlackor på rummet inte riktigt vad man hade förväntat sig. Poolen kändes ren och fräsh.

Stedet er fantastisk og meget autentisk. Værten på stedet var ikke så imødekommende og trænger vist selv til ferie!!!

Ótima estadia. Café da manhã muito bom. Linda paisagem. Hotel muito bem cuidado. Linda estrada para chegar no hotel. Espero voltar em breve.

The tranquility overlooking the valley from the terrace, the restaurant and the pool. Gorgeous Tuscan setting. Lovely old nunnery buildings. Be aware that the menu is limited and does not change day-to-day. Otherwise wonderful.

Wir geben eine zweigeteilte Rückmeldung : das Hotel, das Zimmer, in einem extra Häuschen, der Pool waren einfach wunderbar. Wir hatten einen unkomplizierten Check-in, sogar eine Ladesäule fürs Auto. Wir hatten ein separates Zimmer mit einem großzügigem Bad und der wunderbaren Gelegenheit vor unserer Zimmertür unter den Olivenbäumen zu sitzen. Abends, in himmlischer Ruhe. Das Ganze zu einem wirklichen fairen Preis. Leider ergab sich im Restaurant ein völlig anderes Bild: enttäuschendes Essen, überhöhte Preise und ein Service, der schon slapstick Qualität hatte. Die in anderen Kommentaren bereits erwähnten 5 euro coperto sind nicht nur daher zu viel. Es wurde abgerundet durch einen der schlechtesten Cappuccino beim Frühstück , den wir bisher in Italien hatten. Für das Hotel allerdings gilt, wir kommen sehr gern wieder.

Villa Volpi was lovely. The owner and staff were kind and accommodating. Food and wine were amazing and the infinity pool and views of the countryside breathtaking.

Meraviglioso il contesto, ma per quanto riguarda i servizi praticamente scarsissimi, le camere per il prezzo che costano sono assai vetuste. Lasciamo poi perdere la colazione, cibi davvero scarsi e macchinette per il caffè che sono da scordate. Vi assicuro che non sono una persona difficile, ma a parte la posizione e la vista tutto il resto non ne vale assolutamente la pena.

The location and views of the Villa Volpi are breath-taking. If you are looking for a quiet place to recharge this is the one. The pool was well maintained and the kids loved it. The room was very spacious and clean, but some upkeep is needed. The shower is wood panelled and the wood was all mouldy in the corners. Most light bulbs in the property were not working and would need changing. This was particularly annoying in the bathroom, where only 1 of 4 lights was operational. The big downfall of this property however is the host and the restaurant, and please bear in mind this is a 4-star hotel. The host is a bit of a hit and miss. One day they were chatty and friendly, the other day they barely noticed or greeted you. The waitresses in the restaurant were lovely and tried very hard, but an obvious lack of training made communication and service at times chaotic. What really spoiled our experience however was the restaurant. As the hotel is somewhat remotely located (20 minutes car drive to Lucca), you are likely to eat in the hotel. The menu did not change in 4 days, and as there is only a limited amount of choice, it very quickly becomes repetitive. The food was OK, but not 4-star worthy. I had the impression that many dishes were heated in the microwave and given how soggy the potatoes and pasta was, I seriously doubt they were freshly prepared on the day. In addition the prices are astronomical to the degree that it is comical for what plates you are served.
