The bed in the first room I was given had not been changed since the previous guest. I noticed the bed wasn’t in the usual crisp made condition you get in hotels, so pulled the covers back and there were hairs and crumbs in the bed. Told receptionist, she double checked and gave me a different room. Then on the stay was fine. Didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment.

Everything was perfect

Great, characterful hotel/pub. Breakfasts were excellent and the staff were great. The room itself fine but in a slant. We had to sleep with our head the opposite end of the extremely creaky bed. The shower head was also very low. At 6’, I had to really duck under it. But part of the charm I guess, just could have done with a non creaky bed.

Great Value Pub Stay with Character 10/10

Charming place. Clean, friendly, good bed, pub convenient, location great.

Quick easy check in. Room not quite ready for early check but staff helpful and accomodating in order for us to get in room, changed and out.

Beautiful place. The room was spacious and the bathroom updated. The building and the pub downstairs is very nice. Location is perfect to see everything Chester has to offer.

Loved the pub and the location! Extremely helpful staff. Parking is not available at or very close to site so prepare to walk several blocks. The Pied Bull itself was wonderful and we had no complaints

Truly excellent staying the heart of historic Chester! Incredibly good value for money from a team that genuinely cares about the customers! The breakfast is definitely not to be missed, all freshly cooked to order and of incredible local quality! Will definitely be staying in the future!
