Excellent hotel and staff

If you want to stay in a small characterful boutique hotel in a very pleasant area of Cheltenham then look no further. The hotel has a very welcoming feel and all members of staff we met were really helpful and pleasant. The hotel has a really lovely lounge area and if we were staying longer, I would have definitely used it as a quiet reading spot, likewise the small courtyard area adjacent to the restaurant. We stayed in Room 14 which was on the top floor of the hotel. As there is no lift, probably not the best room for someone with mobility difficulties as the stairs are quite steep, although this wasn’t an issue for us and the room was beautiful. We also liked the personal touches in the room of the port, biscuits and biogs of the main members of staff. But the stand out factor of our stay was the food. We had dinner and breakfast here and both were exceptional. I don’t normally have three courses but couldn’t resist the scallops with pea purée, followed by fillet steak and finally a rhubarb soufflé. Breakfast was also a triumph. So huge thanks to both chefs - you certainly delivered and we would definitely recommend you. All in all the hotel made our stay in Cheltenham and I would definitely recommend it.

Great hotel. Clean and tidy and perfectly located

We were really impressed with this hotel. It has some lovely features and creates a warm stylish ambience. I slept really well in a very comfortable bed. One of the staff members rang to let me know the electric car charging space was available. I had excellent service from all the staff I came into contact with. Oh, and the food was excellent too.

Excellent hotel Well located Great breakfast and evening meals Good communal lounge areas Quirky specious room (double) Only downside was that we found the room very warm,(we had a couple of warm April days) there was a fan it didn’t really cool the room, just glad it wasn’t peak Summer. Limited parking onsite 4 spaces, but enough on street parking so no issue. Enjoyable stay overall.

Excellent location and friendly staff

The rooms were delightful and the food was great. My only complaint is that I left an item in the room and did not hear back from the staff if it was located.

Such a lovely room. The comfiest bed ever. Amazing duvet and pillows. Huge space. Quiet location. We didn’t eat at the property so I cannot comment on the food but the room was absolutely lovely. We stayed in Room number 1

Welcoming staff, fabulous room, good location near town centre but very quiet

Exceeded expectations!

Nice hotel with good service. Some part could do with some improvement, some areas of the room are dated but I suppose that is also sometimes an appeal. Reason why I say this is the radiator was leaking in the bathroom which was frustrating. Breakfast was very nice and good value.

All just relaxing and efficient.

For me, the main reason to stay in a hotel is to get sleep which requires a comfy bed, darkness and quiet. Unfortunately here the windows are very old sash style windows which are not double glazed and have lots of gaps. There were several broken locks and handles indicating they know this is an issue. Previous occupants have also tried with bits of cardboard jammed in the window and toilet paper in the window vent which was broken and open to the elements. In summary on the window, you can here the street outside. Other personal irritations: - There is no dinner served on Sunday or Monday - it would have been nice to know that before I arrived, so I ordered in from Uber. - There is no space to really work, I had to move things to create a space. - I couldn't find the kettle as it was in a dark cupboard where the light was not working so I had to use my phone torch to find things. - The toilet is an old high cistern which looks stylish, but took 20 mins to fill. - This is no lock on the inside of the bedroom door. There were are some positives: - Bed was very comfy - Shower was lovely - Toiletries scored 'Excellent' on Yuka - There was a small 'tot' of complimentary port in the room.

Beautiful spacious room. Helpful and attentive staff. Perfect breakfast.

Gorgeous hotel that’s just a short walk into town. Will stay here whenever I’m in Cheltenham!
