Lovely food beautiful garden and friendly staff

Het was de duurste kamer tijdens onze trip maar ook de minste. Het is een heel oud pand, wat op zichzelf heel leuk is, en ze hebben ook echt hun best gedaan om er iets van te maken, maar dat is net niet gelukt. De badkamer was oud en alles deed het wel maar van een 4sterren hotel verwacht ik wat anders. Plastic bekertjes voor water vind ik ook niet echt passend. De vouwgordijnen hielden het nog net. En het was ook niet echt schoon. De eigenaren zijn heel vriendelijk, zeker de heer des huizes, maar niet echt gastvrij. Het ontbijt was echt prima. Het dorpje zelf is piepklein met prachtige huizen en tuinen, maar er is verder niks. Hoeft niet erg te zijn, ligt eraan waar je naar op zoek bent. Kortom: te duur voor wat je ervoor krijgt.

Lovely bright room, spotlessly clean as was the bathroom. The pub is very old and quirky with low doorways and sloping floors but that's it's charm. The staff are friendly and helpful and breakfast was really good. Evening pub meals were tasty and very well priced. Overall a pleasant place to stay in a beautiful village ( though it is actually officially a tow!)

This is the 2nd time of us staying but we have been there several times for Sunday dinner. Staff are always polite and helpful, food is good and reasonable in price. Located in a beautiful small village of Winchelsea

Room was clean and functional although furniture was rather old fashioned - e.g. writing desks rather than any clothes drawers. Breakfast was excellent! Staff very friendly and helpful.

Room was clean

Winchelsea is a fascinating historic place. The ancient New Inn is a central part of it. For a night's stay it's fine: our room was comfortable enough and had a good view. Breakfast and supper offered average pub fare. What the New Inn really needs is fresh investment: the public areas are tired and e.g. our TV/ remote was worn out.

Our room was spacious, comfortble and clean. The breakfasts were very tasty and substantial. We ate dinner in the restaurant where the food was delicious with generous portions. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We would highly recommend and would happily stay there again.

Great location and a very enjoyable stay

Friendly staff. Comfy bed and slept well at night due to being in a quiet area. Good breakfast and bus stop (number 100) right in front of the New Inn.

A nice clean room with friendly and efficient staff

Amazing staff. Great full english breakfast. Dinner at The New Inn was also good. Nice big room with a view of the beautiful church accross the road. Beautiful small town with a great relaxed feel. Good bed, tea & coffee in the room. Good shower pressure. Bus pick up & drop off right next to the hotel in Winchelsea. Handy to both Rye (10 mins)& Hastings(35 mins)via route 100 bus. Has a lovely outside beer garden.This is a character stay not a new build. As such it had all the quirks & charm you would expect in a building a couple of centuries old. We loved it.

A really lovely place to stay, a perfect quiet and very pretty little village. The pub owners and bar staff were very welcoming and made a wonderful breakfast, and we had dinner there one night too which was fab!

Our stay was excellent and very enjoyable, all as expected for a 4star hotel, very friendly staff nothing was too much trouble, food excellent can’t fault anything except perhaps trying to keep the sash windows open!

Fabulous room,lovely view, so quiet

Historic premises in the cinque port town of Winchelsea where we stayed for two nights. Hosts and staff most accommodating and friendly. Good food and comfortable en suite room. Church opposite well worth a look.
