The location is exellent. The hotel is small and cosy, breakfast is nice and adequate. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily visit again.

Staff were all Attentive to the Guest.

Une très bonne nuit passée dans cet hôtel où le confort , la propreté , etait de la partie . Notre chambre donnait sur l’arrière, très calme, avec même une petite cuisine attenante. Attention, les places de parking sont payantes et peu nombreuses donc le « parking disponible » du site hôtel.com n’est pas forcément vrai mais on nous a indiqué un parking à 200m donc pas de souci. Merci pour ce bon séjour.

Very surprised when we got there we couldn't get in, walked right round the block to find a way in. Owner very friendly and his new dog, room very basic and clean, for the price it was fine. We did not realise he only has a few rooms on the first floor, the rest of the building is apartment's or offices, hence why we couldn't walk in. Breakfast was very basic but for the price it was fine.

Accueil sympathique mais lieu non rénové fourmis dans la chambre salle de bain, douche très petite et la propreté médiocre serviettes avec amas de cheveux sur la serviette impensable!

The room was completely different and the photos as HÔTEL.com presented. The bathroom is mini, there’s not able to sit straight on the toilet.

All was great: location, clean room, confortable. The host was so kind, helpful that we could skip the tiny bathroom. Merci pour tout Gilles !

Hr.Demay führt sein Hotel so liebevoll,sodass man sich wie in in einer Familie fühlt.Morgens wird man mit einen fröhlichen "Bonjour"begrüsst.In der kleinen Küche ist ein kleines gutes Frühstücksbufett aufgebaut.Hier beginnt Hr.Demay einen smalltalk und man unterhält sich automatisch auch mit den anderen Gästen.So erfährt man was sich anzusehen lohnt und was nicht.Wenn man lieber seine Ruhe haben möchte,kann man auch im Zimmer früstücken. Unser Zimmer hat den Altbaucharakter.Bei uns gingen die schönen Bodentiefenfenster nur mit Kraft auf und zu. Abstriche muss man leider mit dem Badezimmer machen.Es ist winzig. Die Lage ist superzentral.Die Strassenbahnstation ist nur 50 m entfernt.Der Bahnhof ca.15 min und der Strand 5 min zu Fuss entfernt. Leider sind die Zimmer,ausser eines zur Strasse in Paterre ,zur Strasse raus,die gut befahren ist.Ein Spielplatz ist schräg gegenüber,wo abends die Kinder mit ihren Eltern sich aufhielten.Natürlich gab es eine Geräuschkulisse,die sich aber in Rahmen hielt.Eigentlich war das auch sehr schön,so hat man ein wenig das Leben der Einwohner mit bekommen. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen,trotz der kleinen Einschränkungen.Diese persönliche Note macht das alles wieder wett.

Hotel V.H. is brilliantly placed for tramway and thus easy journey from airport, very doable walk into old town and access to prom . It is in a very quaint, quirky and beautiful building, occupying the ground floor.Once you become accustomed to this, it is actually VERY good value for money.Gilles, who runs the Hotel, is very pleasant and helpful, and has a great sense of humour. We were very happy with our stay, and wouldnt hesitate to return to Hotel Victor Hugo.

The location of the Hotel is great! The owner is very nice and helpful. Our room was not very clean and the daily cleaning included new toilettepaper and a spreading of the bedsheet, noting more. We had a room with a pentry and the dishes wre not made, so we startet with doing that with a towel from the bathroom. Breakfast was included, bread, butter, cheese and ham. Worked for a short stay.

Great hotel and staff!

I enjoyed my stay at Victor Hugo. The hotel is very convenient and in a good area. My bedroom was the smallest ( and cheapest) but it was ideal for one person. I enjoyed the breakfast although it was crowded at times. Overall a good choice.

We enjoyed our stay in Nice very much which included trips to the sea, Old Town, and a day trip to Eze. It was lovely!

We were excited to come to Nice and after reading reviews, equally excited to stay at the Hotel Victor Hugo. Gilles went out of his way to give us many excellent ideas on where to go and what to do. The hotel was clean, the breakfast was great and amply supplied and I highly recommend for anyone planning a trip to Nice.

A really great stay with a very pleasant, welcoming host. The hotel is well situated, close to the railway station and bus stops as well as a 2 minute walk from the tram stop to/from the airport.

Perfect location near a tram station, so getting about was easy. Excellent host who was friendly and very helpful, and spoke fluent English, despite me wanting to practice my French!!! Only a small number of rooms so the host could be very attentive, and the excellent breakfast could be taken in the room if desired. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel.
