There are 2 parts to this review. First the property is amazing, set in beautiful grounds with clearly marked trails and lots of birds and wildlife. All the staff are really helpful and clearly passionate about the location they work in. We did the onsite night walk and saw lots of animals including sloths, agouti, kinkajou and porcupine, alongside frogs and beautiful birds. The restaurant serves produce from the farm of good quality (although options are limited). What lets it down are the standard rooms in the main lodge. These are dark, dated, the beds aren't so comfortable and you can hear EVERY movement and conversation in the neighbouring rooms. I would recommend staying at the lodge but book a bugalow if your budget allows

Property and amenities were pretty good: full service restaurant although with limited options. Activities on site were good (chocolate making / dairy work / rainforest walk). Sloths on the grounds, so many birds and butterflies. Pool area was nice but could've been cleaner (old drinks glasses weren't cleaned up, pool water quite dirty, tiles missing) Our room was the Earth House and it was fine although could benefit from the floor being redone and the bathroom could've been nicer. I would say overall 7/10 for the room, 9/10 for food quality, 7/10 for food choice, 10/10 for the staff. Big love to Elli in the restaurant and to the owners who we were happy to meet!

Beautiful surroundings

Great place, we absolutely loved it, rooms were amazing. Breakfast was good but not loads of choice, it’s a little out of the way but this didn’t affect us as we had a car and the grounds made up for it. We saw sloths over the car park near the reception.

Wonderful Everything

The food was simply incredible: fresh, delicious and plenty of options. It was so easy to eat a gluten-free diet without feeling like I was missing out on anything. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. We especially loved our private Dome Suite: perfect for a romantic getaway. And, the massages by Ale were a great addition. We had fabulous guides for the night hike and the morning birding tour and highly recommend having someone point out all the wildlife we surely would've walked by. Can't say enough about this property!

Touring the farm was a delight! We saw lots of animals and enjoyed chatting with one of 5 gardeners who was very informative. Accomodations were charming and exceptiomally clean. Great farm to table restaurant, wonderful cocktails & N/A options, incredibly friendly & helpful staff.

Beautiful property with a delicious breakfast included in the rate. We organized airport transportation with the hotel which made for smooth travel. We enjoyed walking the trails and had dinner there a few nights. It's a a 40 minute drive from La Fortuna, but Carlos from Costa Rica Rent-A-Guide picked us up at no extra costa and took us to all the major tourist destinations (Mistico Bridge, La Fortuna Waterfall, Arenal Volcano, etc.) Comfortable beds and perfect patio lounge furniture, complete with a hammock! I recommend and would stay again. Many thanks to the kind an accomodating staff.

This is an amazing ecolodge that offers the opportunity of seeing wildlife using the trail starting directly from the hotel. The food is very fresh and clearly very locally sourced. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It’s located in a quiet area far from Arenal. Highly recommended.

The dome suite was most unusual and quirky. Large comfortable bed with integrated storage in the unique bamboo head board. Lovely and totally private outdoor space, perfect for watching the birds and immersing oneself into the sounds of nature. Very eco conscious lodge which treads lightly with regards to it's carbon foot print Great tasting, mainly vegetarian dishes with most ingredients fresh from the farm. Lots of animals and birds to see on the trails including sloth,howler monkeys and the most beautiful birds. We can only recommend it.

This property is such a gem. The staff goes above and beyond to make your stay amazing. We could have spent more time just exploring the grounds, they have so many cool things to see! They showed us a sloth and baby that live close by the reception area. The gift shop sources locally made goods, which was a really special. The food was great and we loved our chocolate making tour!! Would absolutely return for more days to enjoy this one of a kind property!

Die Finca Luna Nueva Lodge ist eine wunderschöne Anlage, die ergänzt wird durch eine ausgezeichnete Gastronomie und großzügigen Pool.

Semplicemente perfetta ! Abbiamo visto più animali nei dintorni della Finca che nei parchi più « popolari » della zona dell’Arenal. In più il cibo e semplicemente squisito! Sarei rimasta volentieri una settimana per assaggiare tutto il menù! Infine: il personale è formidabile

Fremragende øko-hotel midt i junglen. Hotellet har sin egen 3 km junglesti og vi lå ved poolen og så dovendyr hænge i træerne. Aber, frøer og fugle ligeså. Poolen er dejlig varm og meget børnevenlig. Maden på hotellet stammer fra egen farm. Selv smørret er kærnet fra mælk fra farmens køer. Værelserne er rummelige og fine uden at være luksus. Vi var der i juli og vejret var dejligt med sol og varme. Og selvfølgelig lidt regn også - her midt i regnskoven. Det hører med. Kan virkelig anbefales. Ikke nødvendigt med 4x4 som nogle skriver. Men bil er et must.

Our stay at Finca Luna Nueva Lodge was simply unforgettable. The place is stunning — surrounded by lush nature, peaceful energy, and vibrant life everywhere you look. The food was absolutely delicious, fresh, and nourishing, and the warm hospitality made us feel truly welcomed from the very first moment. And the yoga shala is simply magic! One of the highlights of our trip was the night tour with Dani in the forest — such a fascinating and enriching experience! She guided us through the local fauna with incredible passion and deep knowledge, showing us frogs, insects, and nocturnal life in such a respectful and exciting way. She even took beautiful photos with her phone to share with all of us — such a thoughtful touch! We also highly recommend treating yourself to a massage with Alexandra — she’s incredibly skilled and intuitive. One of the best massages we’ve ever had! This place is a true gem — relaxing, inspiring, and full of heart.

This hotel was absolutely gorgeous, on the most amazing grounds. Nestled in the heart of the rainforest with two trails to walk through. The pool and hot tub were perfect, and open 24/7. The service was brilliant and the room was beautiful and luxurious.

The property is beautiful and true farm to table dining but therefore a limited menu. The private cassitas are lovely and spacious with a large bathroom and private patio. However the bed creaked getting in and out and whenever you moved and the mattress was so hard I barely slept. The hot tub was too scalding hot to actually enjoy but the setup was stunning.

The most peaceful experience I had while in CR, it is nestled in the mountains full of flowers, and birds! The food is fresh, affordable and tasty. We went to a few restaurants in the area and they were the best option. They carry Suiz y Tico beer, highly recommend. My favorite was laying on the hammock outside my room watching the rain, lightning, and hummingbirds!
