What a beautiful setting, we were blown away! The rooms were comfortable, clean and wonderfully supplied with toiletries and hot drinks. The beds were extremely comfortable, best night sleep I’ve had in ages. Parking is free, just register it at reception. Staff were efficient, pleasant and helpful. We will certainly be coming back.

The first room was not good and the heat did not work. But we were moved to a new room. That was absolutely beautiful spacious, working heat, comfortable, clean with sitting area. So the second room gets all the five stars! Staff and food were all wonderful!

Lovely grounds

The room was OK. Compact. Quite a few issues with it none of which were rectified during our stay, despite reporting at the Welcome Desk. I have to say it was difficult to communicate with the team prior to arrival. The Staff at the White Hart were lovely. The Grounds are lovely.

This is a beautiful place with character and history as well as modern amenities. You could spend your whole stay without going off site as there are walks a cinema the heritage centre sports facilities and eateries

Dartington estate is very impressive, but hotel is very poor Y sign posted , I was driving round trying to find check in , stopped and asked at the information desk , oh it’s here , here’s the key and leaflet , park your car over there your in the west wing, the bed room was what I expected, but low bedside table so reading lamp no good , telly is g Behind you so had to sit on the bed to watch , and telly reception was very poor, poor signal on most channels, no internet in bedrooms even though advise as Wi-Fi , only in main hotel could I log on

Spent a relaxing couple of nights here. Beautiful grounds to walk around and good food options on site. Slept fantastically in my cosy comfortable bedroom.

Surroundings are handy

This is the second time I have stayed at Dartington Hall and absolutely love it 😊

Lovely setting - lovely to stay in such an old building but facilities in our room were tired. Shower was so hot you couldn't shower. Windows didn't shut properly, TV didn't work.

Excellent location. Stayed in same room November 2024 and reported plumbing problem. This was still evident on our recent visit. Had to ask 3 times to get our room serviced which was not done on 1st day. Plentiful breakfast but problem with keeping it warm. (dont like cold scrambled egg!) Breakfast room understaffed. Trading on location but needs better management

Dejligt sted med stor og imponerende smuk have. Rigtig gode muligheder for at gå tur i området. Vandet på badeværelset skulle løbe i op til 5 min før det var varmt nok til at bade i. Der manglede i den grad knager og kroge til jakker, håndklæder og andet. Super fin morgenbuffet og venligt personale.

Loved the rooms the staff and service was excellent we had lunch in the white heart and this was also excellent only ddisappointment was because we enjoyed lunch we then paid to add breakfast this was sadly not satisfactory the food tho in warming pots was cold the bacon dried out my son left not eating and i only had a sausage and mushrooms that were just about warm very disappointed given the lunch day before was 10 out of 10 so mixed feelings on food

We were very impressed with the food in the evening and breakfast they were preferably cooked and presented

Our expectations were exceeded. The room was huge, the location stunning, the service excellent and the food super tasty - highly recommended.

Wonderful historic property just outside of Totnes. Lots of walking opportunities and nice food too.

Lovely gardens. Excellent menu at the White Hart and a great cafe at the Green Table. Very comfortable and clean room with en suite. The courtyard and buildings were historically very interesting. We were thee to attend a funeral and so our experience at Dartington Hall was a lovely surprise. Lovely staff at check-in and in the restaurants.

It's a lovely location and a lovely historic building. The dining option closed 3 hours before it was due to as it didn't have any bookings. The nearest pub is a 30 minute walk away - fine if you have a car.... No front of house service after 16.00. Breakfast a bit greasy spoony. No thermostatic control on the room radiators - so would need to sleep with ground floor windows open. Still waiting to hear from customer services about the above and more niggly problems.

It was great to stay on the Dartington Estate and be able to use the White Hart for an evening meal and we enjoyed being able to walk around the gardens after breakfast before we left.
