Friendly staff, lovely atmospheric hotel, tastefully decorated rooms.

Ian the manager made my stay an absolute nightmare .rude abrupt obnoxious. Staff misinformed me and ian didnt lwt me back into the hotel and had me stood outside fro. 4.30 am till 8am when the next manager started the shift levente was the next manager and fixwd the issue and allowed me back in my room. Ian should not be qorking in hospitality with his mitlet mentality and absokute no lack of communication or resolve or management skils whatsoever. Absokutely disgraceful tramatised my son who was meant to be visiting and havent seen in a while and ruined my whole week .. disgraceful..

Staff very courteous. Room tidy, however, there was an unidentifiable stain on the bedspread which was very off-putting. Breakfast - really nice that there was a lovely selection of fresh fruit. Strawberries, blueberries, raspberries as well as the ususl melon and pineapple. However, the cooked breakfast was not at all up to the standard of the previous owners. Bacon was lukewarm and hard as were the beans. It may we that we been spoilt by the previous owner who offered a range of cooked to order breakfast options. Including eggs benedict and scrambled or poached eggs. We have been visiting this hotel over the last 10 years and were disappointed with whats on offer now.

Spacious rooms and friendly staff

This is my 3rd stay here, hotel is in the perfect location and the staff are so friendly - particularly the recepionist. Unfortunately, I didn't sleep well this time. Our room was in the middle of a corridor which people seemed to be walking up and down all night! Will request a different room next time.

Loved the breakfast, plenty of healthy options of fruit, nuts, seeds etc.

The staff are alway nice here but the hotel has seen better days. The breakfast was good, a lot of choice for vegetarians.

It is a charming, family-run hotel with very friendly staff. The room was delightfully old-fashioned but with a modern en suite bathroom/shower. The breakfast is very English with real fried eggs, English bacon and English sausages together with all the other usual accompaniments. Unfortunately, there is no evening restaurant but there is a wide range of eateries withing walking distance. There is a small public car park immediately opposite the hotel which can be full but we had no problem finding a slot after a short wait. And, as a bonus for us, Blue Badge parking is completely free, all day, in Devon. Finally, it is a short walk from the heart of the city. Highly recommended.

Nice and clean rooms

Room was clean and the hotel had a cozy atmosphere. The location is great, just a short walk to Exeter town centre with the area being not too loud. Staff was very friendly. Note that since the building is old and the floors made out of wood, you may hear other guests walking around or above your room.

Fairly close to Exerer Central station and not far from Cathedral. You can easily walk to Exeter St Davids but not the other way. Hotel is a bit worn. Need renovation but is fully acceptable. 3:rd floor no elevator. Good breakfast!
