The resort is located in a beautiful area. The view is astonishing and the staff is amazing, however the rooms are too outdated and cleanness is not good enough for the price. This is definitely not $250 a night quality hotel. The room that we got appeared not to be cleaned prior. Bedsheets were dirty and WAY too old with stains and both beds appeared to have been just made without having bedsheets replaced. The balcony area was dirty and unkept. The service is great but amenities and condition of the resort is extremely poor for the price. I would not be staying here if i knew it was this outdated. Very disappointed.

We loved our stay at umaya. The beach is awesome. The whole pool area/chairs/dock and set up are awesome too. So great that you can also borrow Kayaks and paddle boards (which we did) to have morning paddles when the ocean is calmer. The room was spacious and clean. The hotel itself is beautiful, the staff helpful and accommodating and the food at the hotel was good as well. There are also many restaurants and a supermarket (10 min drive) close to umaya without having to always make the drive into Placencia town (about 20/25mins) Oh those speed bumps! We would for sure come back to umaya again as we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Umaya Resort is the perfect blend of comfort, location, and laid-back beach vibes. With a bakery, fruit stand and several award-winning beachfront restaurants a short walk away, no car is needed. The property itself is fantastic. We loved spotting starfish and stingrays off the dock. We enjoyed the complimentary paddle boards and kayaks, sunrise walks along the beach and the smoothie bar. Our unit had a full kitchen, great air conditioning and plenty of hot water. Peaceful, scenic, and incredibly convenient; would absolutely stay here again.

Had a great time, staff were friendly and very helpful, plenty of things to do in the area and lots offered. Pool was fun and being located between the ocean and the lagoon made it great for spotting wildlife. Big shout out to the snorkel team who helped us see a fantastic array of sealife

Excellent stay, and loved our view!

Good location for sightseeing at the top of the Placencia isthmus. Spacious guest rooms. Nice sandy beach and large pool with swim up bar. Attentive staff. Beautifully plated food which was mostly tasty (a few misses on the menu and also missing ingredients).

Everything was great up until we asked to get a shuttled ordered two days in advance to the airport for 6 am. At 6:15, we were still waiting. Talked to staff that was there (cooks, security) and everyone was like idk. So that was nice and we had to stand on the side of the road and hitch hike because every taxi place we tried to call, wouldn’t answer. If you’re not going to order something, at least could have left us know and I would have figured something out. Almost missed my flight and I had 3 connecting flights all close within each other and it would have messed up my whole day

We found hair in the beds and shower before we had used it. The welcome community was great. But once we checked in the service wasn't that fast. We had to wait quite awhile till someone unlocked the canoes and water boards. Other than that it was a great little get away. And we would come back again.

The staff are fantastic!!!

I booked an ocean view room and the room I was initially given was a lagoon view. I had to show them my reservation to prove that I was supposed to be in an ocean view room. They did give me an ocean view room the next day. The refrigerator in the kitchen had water and ice in the door but it didn’t work because it was hooked up. The jet tub wasn’t working so basically just a bathtub. The dock was great for getting in the water but impossible to get out of the water! Plus the dock was not in very good condition. The toilet plugged up (not my fault) and the maintenance guy said he needed to turn on a pump or something but it did work fine afterwards. Bed was not very comfortable. I did like the patio. The Security Guards were very friendly and made regular rounds on the property.

Nice, large space. Beach view was stunning. Loved the pool, wish there was a hot tub. Washer/Dryer in the unit. Not many food options. Bathroom showers could use a good cleaning. The snake on the porch was a bit scary but they sent someone over right away to take care of it.
