Beautiful Ryokan near Nishiki market. The hosts are very friendly, and the area is super walkable.

Il ryokan si trova nel dedalo di vie intorno al Nishiki market, appena fuori dalla folla. La struttura sembra un po’ datata, ma fa parte del suo fascino. I proprietari sono molto cortesi e la colazione ottima.

Très bon accueil par les hôtes qui habitent l’immeuble. Ils parlent très bien anglais. L’emplacement est excellent pour le shopping et les restaurants. On peut se déplacer dans plusieurs lignes de train ou de bus dans un rayon de 10min de marche. On a essayé le bain qui est petit, mais très bien. Le déjeuner offert est copieux. Je le recommande pour ceux qui désirent vivre l’expérience Ryocan.

This property, the owners and the staff were all wonderful. Try the traditional breakfast, it is a must do. The property is charming, the size of the room is a great value and everything is clean and orderly. The location is superior, close to Nishiki Market, high end shopping and only about a 10 minute walk to public transportation. Many good food choices close by from small authentic restaurants to the many food stalls in Nishiki Market Taxis as very reasonable in Kyoto, so feel free to use them if you don’t wish to walk This property is highly recommended.

Super super friendly stuff! Great location for walking around the market. we had a short stay in Kyoto so sleeping on the floor was not a big problem. Great to experience Japanese culture. The breakfast was Wowing and festive. Highly recommended.

Very friendly and sweet couple running the ryokan. The made you feel like you were home. The ryokan was very clean and the rooms were spacious. We appreciated the private bathroom and also used the public bath. They provided hot water and tea along with wonderful cookies. We really like the location which was adjacent to Nishiki Market. We would definitely stay here again.

The owners are so nice and thoughtful. Always greeting us on our return. The public bath is nice and the breakfast is delicious. The location is perfect. Very close to Nishiki market and walkable to the Gion. We always enjoy our stay here and can’t wait to return.

It was so nice. I went with 4 of my friends (5 including me). The place wasn’t so big, pretty small inn. The old man and old lady welcomed us extremely kindly and were engaging in conversations. They try their very best speaking English so they can appeal to the foreigners and I thought that was very nice. The public bath was also small, but was well taken care of, I had a nice bath and well rested sleep. Inside the rooms we were provided with Yukata, very comfortable to sleep in. They even offer snacks as a freebie on the table inside the room. Next to the Nishiki Market. Overall, such an amazing place. I would definitely book again if I ever go back to Kyoto!

Great ryokan

Lovely bed-and-breakfast inn, with owner staying at one of the units. Convenient location from the main shopping & restaurant area, and also walkable to subway. Hard to hail taxi outside of the hotel when we need to go to the airport. So the hotel calls taxi for us. We waited for about 10 min before the taxi came, which is ok. The room has tatami floor, which is one of the reasons we chose this inn. Room was warm at night, with a temperature control inside the room that we can adjust & turn on/off. The bathroom in our unit was the Japanese type. A little chair was available inside to sit down & take shower. There is a bath tub too. The onsen on 2/F is tiny but comfortable. Can fit 2 people at most, or 3 people who are close to each other, I'd say. Otherwise it would be very crowded to use the onsen. There are only 2 bathing slots at the onsen anyway. The changing room outside the onsen is tiny, which was fine for us 2 people. The breakfast in the morning was filling & look VERY beautiful. It was the reason why my sister chose to stay at this hotel, and it's worth it! :) Hotel can keep our bags at the common area outside of reception after check-out, which is very helpful for us to go around the city on our last day. The only question we have is why the room was only half-cleaned when we went back in the evening. We had 2 beds on the tatami floor, but only 1 bed was nearly tidied up -- the other bed was clearly not tidied up at all. Strange.

This was an amazing place! We had never stayed in a Royal con before, and very glad we chose this location. The owners were extremely friendly, and the room was very comfortable. We enjoyed the traditional breakfast, and access to the public bath (a must try experience). I highly recommend this hotel.!

The hosts were wonderful and the location close to food, shopping , transportation and Kyoto attractions. It was hard to get the room temperature to be comfortable for me, that’s probably the only issue I had.

Absolutely incredible property and staff. Super close to everything as well. I would recommend this place to anyone interested in staying in a ryokan in Kyoto.

It was my first time in Japan, so Kyo-no-Yado Kagihei was my very first ryokan experience. I stayed for a few days and loved every moment of it. The Japanese style room was very comfortable and cozy. I appreciated the daily restock of tea, cookies, and bottled drinks. The property is located in a very convenient location as I was able to go sightseeing, shop, and even just wander around Kyoto to appreciate the slow vibe. Tomo and Yuko, the owners of the ryokan, were so sweet and kind to me. I felt so welcomed and at home. The entire staff is just as gentle and considerate. Highly recommend this property. I already miss everyone (and the Japanese breakfast!).

El lugar es hermoso! Transmite la esencia del Japón tradicional, los desayunos son increíbles y cuenta con su propio onsen!!!
