The rooms are perfectly clean and well stocked. The staff was wonderful. It's a perfect location for walking to town or along the water.

The Sails was easy to get to and the suite was spotless. We ended up arriving later than the office was open due to a late ferry arrival, but they easily helped us get our key. Thank you so much for everything! We loved our stay with you!

Sherrie was so welcoming !!! The motel is immaculately clean, bright and modern , with a fantastically equipped kitchen area , dishwasher with the dishwasher soap supplied, and access to washing machines and dryers on the ground floor. The bathroom was large with fluffy towels & lovely soar, conditioner and shampoo. The nespresso coffee machine had plenty of pods and fresh milk was waiting in the fridge . Our room was downstairs, so had a little patio area with chairs , and space to put a drying rack ( from the laundry) outside. Iron and ironing board and a safe were supplied along with bathrobes and crisp white sheets . Very impressed at the attention to detail, and unlike other motels we have used, even had salt and pepper mills .

We had an enjoyable 5 night stay. Our expectations were exceeded. Thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone considering a week in Nelson.

My husband and I had a brief but delightful stay at The Sails in Nelson. The room was clean and comfortable, with amenities including a small kitchen (featuring a sink, microwave, small stove, and dishwasher) as well as access to shared laundry facilities. The host was incredibly friendly and even offered to help transfer our laundry while we were out hiking in Abel Tasman National Park. The location is excellent, just a short walk to downtown.

Very nice room with comfortable bed as promised by our host. Walking distance to restuarants. Large TV with Netflix. Easy in and out location.

The only thing I dislike is the vanity which is too tiny. Everything else is good. The best I like is the generous supply of tea, coffee and milk. The tea is very delicious. Thanks the hosts.

Lovely clean and amazing staff

Quite and relaxing

I read about this luxury motel on a blog (the author raved about it), and thank goodness I did! It was modern, new, spotless, ginormous (the shower stall was the size of most bathrooms!), well-appointed, comfortable (most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in), handy to zillions of restaurants and stores, and came with a parking spot right below the room (no trudging through a huge lot). Cherie at the front desk was friendly and helpful. I would absolutely recommend The Sails and stay here again without question.

Or stay at the Sails was amazing, the room was lovely and large, the bed was incredibly comfortable and the duvet lovely. A great bathroom with a large shower. Good facilities in the kitchen area, we would highly recommend this venue in Nelson. It was very close to the town and all restaurants, supermarkets etc.
