Superb service, welcome and warmth from all of the staff. Every little touch provided and thought about. Superb location and land for walking. Food awesome cannot praise this hotel enough.

We had a wonderful stay. The room was perfect and loved wandering through the gardens and nearby walks despite the weather. Cosy evening by the fireplace, red wine and board games. The Christmas decorations were tasteful and festive. Fantastic team of staff and look forward to returning.

A beautiful hotel in a lovely setting with the sound of the river when you sat on the terrace. The staff were exceptional and always ready to help with any request. The room was very comfortable, lovely big bed and superb bathroom.

Very dated

A beautiful hotel set in lovely gardens on the edge of Dartmoor National Park. Friendly, attentive and helpful staff. Very good standard of food. The classic room we stayed in was spacious, comfortable and very clean. Perfect for a relaxing break once you have negotiated the 1.5 mile single track road to the hotel!

We had the most magical stay and really got away from it all. In our 10km walk from the hotel we saw two standing stone circles.

Gorgeous setting and lovely hotel. Very quiet when we were there which in many ways was excellent but at times it felt too quiet. The food was absolutely amazing and everything we ate was wonderful from afternoon tea to dinner to breakfast,

We had dinner in the lounge and waited over an hour to get our food. Service was poor

Lovely place in a quite remote location. Final approach is 2 miles of very narrow twisting road. Once arrived the welcome is second to none and service is first rate. Beautiful hotel with magnificent views provided you have a room situated in the front overlooking the gardens and river. Sadly the weather was quite wet but still managed to do some walking around the extensive grounds between heavy showers. Breakfast was very good and dinner excellent with limited but interesting choices and many additional extras. We recommend this hotel very highly.

Our stay at Gidleigh Park was extraordinary. I had never experienced the level of service offered or the professionalism of the staff. We felt welcomed and cared for as individuals. The meals were outstanding. I’m so glad I chose to stay there for part of our trip to England’s southwest, but every place after was a bit of a let down.

Truly a five star experience and one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at. Gorgeous setting, amazing food, bespoke and truly personalized service. I will absolutely be back.

It had rained heavily during the day and the river outside was very noisy, which was loud in our room overnight.

Stayed over weekend for wife’s birthday and also for our first year wedding anniversary. The service was fantastic, the food incredible and the hotel itself was in impeccable condition. Couldn’t fault anything the whole weekend. If I could afford to go there every year I wouldn’t have a second thought about booking it!
