Beautiful hotel. Lovely room. Excellent included breakfast. The only negative was no WiFi. They said they had it but we could never get it so we had trouble contacting our families. We told them about it and they said they woukd fix it but never happened. Otherwise lovely stay.

This is a real castle, though the part that's occupied is not nearly as old as the original part, and it's been made into a luxurious hotel. There aren't many rooms, so it's quiet. The five-course dinner was one of the best meals we've ever enjoyed, and it was served expertly. Unfortunately we had to leave too early to partake of their breakfast, which was bound to be superb.

Pleasant Staff

The rooms need some updated decor and someone to automatically bring milk and coffee refills etc rather than having to ask for it - we are the guests after all. No room service during our 2 night stay which I would also expect for the price. The dining room staff could be more attentive for evening service, and perhaps give more recommendations and advice on the a la carte menu and what to choose. Additionally, someone to greet you at the door of the restaurant rather than leaving you standing around not being sure to just take a seat yourself or not. The whole place has an odd atmosphere to it, and staff are possibly too discreet. Breakfasts were really nice though and it’s a nice little castle / village for a short wander. I’d spend close to 2k elsewhere in future though, and somewhere that has additional facilities - gym, pool etc.

Ivan was just brilliant at sorting out an issue. Cant praise him enough.

Wonderful stay at Amberley Castle, park on site, lovely staff, very friendly and helpful, food was very good, room lovely with a Dyson hairdryer and Nespresso coffee machine. Would definitely visit again

Parking was easy, staff friendly and food excellent. For us, we could have used a mini fridge.

I was there to critique the food for a five star accommodations. For a 900 year-old facility a castle in England I was pleased.

Great hotel, and great surroundings. That said, service can be much improved. 1) Wifi in the room didn’t work and staff didn’t know how to fix it. They had to wait for their manager who would only be there the next day. 2) we had dinner in the restaurant and don’t think I’ve ever had a slower service… For example, took them 40mins to bring out the bread. For a 3 course meal, we were at the table for 3h.. Some people just left because they didn’t want to wait anymore. We complained and they waived the service charge. They need to look at their staffing levels/training.

This was expensive for what it was, even for a castle stay. The room was nice, but not outstanding for the price. The staff were friendly, the bed was comfy, the grounds were cute. For what you pay, would be nice to receive complimentary drink of arrival or something. Don't do dinner here, so completely over priced (yes, I know you are paying more for a castle, but even then - we spent about $500AUD on a OK dinner, it was crazy!)

Great stay! Was upgraded to nicer room on arrival. Comfy beds, lux bathroom, tea/coffee and fresh baked cookies - heaven! Walked to Amberley Black Horse pub for drinks & snacks (and board games) then back to hotel for their 5 course tasting menu - most enjoyable!

We enjoyed the castle experience, but our room was by the front desk/lobby and we heard everything that was going on there until late and early in the morning. I paid additional for an extra bed which came as a cot, small, thin mattress, uncomfortable! The food however was the highlight of our stay, do stay for tea time and dinner it’s well worth it!
