We are very fortunate to have found this hotel in Bath England. From the moment we arrived until the minute we left the hotel staff, services, cleanliness and spa kept us smiling. I highly recommend this hotel for couples looking to find the perfect hotel in Bath. We stayed in the executive room and had plenty of space for our suitcases + lots of closet and storage space. The only negative I found with the room it has a bathtub that you must step into that is a couple feet off the ground. I would not recommend this room if you are not comfortable stepping in and out of a high tub in a tight space. Hotel customers get access included with their stay to the mineral bath spa every morning for a couple hours in every evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. I highly recommend anybody staying at this hotel take advantage of the beautiful spa each day. We did not order any food but visited the bar one night and got exceptional service from the bartender. The hotel is centrally located and only a 5 to 10 minute walk from the train station. We would definitely stay here again should we choose to return to Bath.

Brilliant location central to everything. Noisy at times. Wouldn’t book hotel parking again cheaper options available. Spa village perfect!

Amazing stay at the Gainsborough in Bath. Love the complimentary access to the Thermal Bath Spa at the hotel itself and it’s a really nice spa/bath area. Everything was super close by and in walking distance. Great rooms, great staff and really enjoyed our stay

I loved the spa at the hotel. Warm clean pools. The location was central for restaurants, historical sites, and shopping. Public parking is a short walk away.

It is a beautiful Hotel staff excellent and very attentive . My room was immaculate and very comfortable. The only issue I had was it was quite a journey to get to the room up and down stairs and along corridors as in a separate building. So anyone with a heavy case or difficulties walking was not a good location, I had a heavy case so location of room was not great. Also my room was very noisy and both mornings got woken up at 5.00am by the noise outside my room. I know I had the cheapest room but for the money it did not feel luxurious ,which is a shame as the Hotel itself is fantastic and the Spa is amazing.

The Gainsborough Bath Spa was ideally located, enabling us to easily do and see what we wished during our 2-day stay in Bath. Of particular note and importance to us was the very comfortable bed since we’ve experienced many beds in Europe that are too firm for our comfort. We had exceptionally fine massages in their spa, for which we are thankful to Hana, our massage therapist.

Beautiful hotel and equally beautiful room. Well located, very central. Parking outside the hotel is limited and very tight.

We had a lovely stay here. The room was really comfortable and we made use of the spa in the morning for a swim. Will definitely return

Smart hotel but a few elements that didn’t match the price tag: - we were given a disability room with a plastic shower curtain, two double sink and nowhere to hang a hand towel. We asked to move and were told the hotel was full. Disappointing for a romantic birthday stay. - the sauna had no sealed door and was cold. Glancing down through the slats the floor was filthy. A handyman also opened the door when we were in there asking if anyone had seen a screw (completely inappropriate) - we left our sunglasses in a restaurant and the owner dropped them by but we received no call to collect them and staff at first said they hadn’t seen them when we asked

A beautiful hotel. Felt luxurious and special. The spa is stunning and so much better than the Thermae Spa. I was actually quite gutted that I spent additional money to go there. Stunning interiors and beautiful rooms. I will come back and I will recommend.

Fab staff

Our 1st room was so small it didn't have drawers to put clothes in & had an ironing board in the room as nowhere else to put it, 2nd room was almost identical, 3rd room offered has drawers but if you need the ironing board you need to get clothes out the wardrobe, move the stand for your case out (which means moving the bedside table), then you can get to the ironing board! The room looks out over the (very loud) pub garden next door. The towels in the room are the smallest I've ever had in a 4* hotel (premier inn towels are I think larger!) The shower screen wasn't fitted properly so leaked water all over the floor, and you couldn't have a bath as the plug didn't fit properly so the water ran straight back out! The room is in the building next door so to get to the restaurant / spa / reception you go down 2 floors, along a narrow corridor, down some more steps, back up and then upstairs to reception. The staff are friendly but not trained - comical restaurant staff re-setting the table next to us with their bottom in our faces as we ate, clearing my plate while my partner was eating. OK not "awful" but hardly a 5* hotel The spa is nice but if you want to use it between 10am and 7pm it's £140 extra for a couple. That also means that the spa is as busy as a Ryan Air check in at 7pm and not much better at 8am There are way way better Bath hotels - Royal Crescent makes this hotel seem like a homeless shelter, the Black Fox pub rooms next door are a better option at 1/4 price
