Jamini, the lady who runs Maison Brunet, is friendly and helpful. She makes it hard to write a bad review. But - the place is not being cleaned or maintained. I'm sure it gets a superficial cleaning. But the edges of the floors near the walls and baseboards were filthy. The windows in my room were so dirty it was hard to see out of them. The kitchen area was dusty, the toaster was covered in old crumbs and grease. There were bags of garden soil and a vaccum cleaner stored right next to the rack of dishes for guest to use. The shower surround was coated with soap scum. My mattress had a hole in it at one end. The blankets were stained. The front entrance made me think the building was abandoned: missing awning, worn stairs, crumbling pavers in front and lots of tall weeds. This was once an elegant house, and Maison Brunet could be a real gem, but not without better cleaning and maintenance.
