Check in was straight forward, and we were shown to our room. Room was clean and ready for us. After showering and getting changed , we went to the bar for a beer. Good choice of beers , and the bar staff were very friendly. Enjoyed our food there too. Breakfast was lovely , and we left feeling refreshed and well fed. We were walking the Sandstone Trail , so it was an ideal stop over for us. Highly recommended

Nice room but lacking storage. Ok for a couple of nights. Good food and decent real ale. Option for takeaway breakfast on an early start morning is brilliant. Parking for a motorbike is good.

Lovely hotel, will definitely stay again

Lovely, welcoming and friendly staff. Great comfortable and large room. Great bathroom. Really good continental breakfast and an amazing Sunday roast. Will definitely stay again, highly recommended

We were greeted on arrival the hotel was really busy they had live music on and the place was full but the owner gave us a quick tour and assisted us with our luggage to our rooms the rooms were lovely clean and inviting everything we needed was provided shampoo bodywash nice soft towels hairdryer they brought us fresh milk in a small flask so we coukd make tea or coffee beds were comfortable in the morning we came downstairs to a wonderful continental breakfast with lots of fresh fruit fresh croissants and toast again excellent service

Highly recommend (especially if you have a dog)! Honestly one of the best hotels I have stayed in. Set in a stunning location and the staff were super friendly and welcoming. The pub atmosphere and food was amazing. Highly welcoming to our dog 🐾 Pet friendly room was large, clean and shower fantastic. WORTH EVERY PENNY! 😍

Room was very comfortable and facilities were excellent. Nice shower. Pub was well decorated, felt relaxed and comfortable.

This was an amazing find. The rooms were very spacious beautiful decorated and very warm. Staff were all really helpful and friendly. We ate in the restaurant on the evening and the meal was delicious. Loved the decor of the bar/restaurant and the open fires and candles created a very homely feel. Reasonably priced too.

The room was spotless and warm. Good facilities and an excellent restaurant. The staff were very friendly and very welcoming and we had a lovely stay.

Our host was very welcoming. we’d had really good communication prior to coming and so the dietary needs of my daughters were well catered for. Breakfast was delicious with lovely thick Greek yogurt and fresh fruit and warm flaky croissants. Would definitely stay again.

A highly recommended hotel, we loved our stay and will, hopefully, be back in the New Year.

Lovely rooms

The room was lovely-much better than I’d expected. The staff were very friendly. We had an evening meal and although the menu range was quite limited, I still had trouble choosing and what you are eventually served with is high quality and presented really carefully. The only blot on the copybook was that my Mum, who I was sharing with, was the first to use the toilet and on lifting the lid was greeted by a bowl full of pungent waste. Other than that this was a lovely place to locate ourselves for access to Oulton Park
