Perfect for a short weekend break with friends. The location is a little out of the action, but it was lovely and quiet with lots of cute cafes in walking distance and the walk to the centre was not too long. Really great hotel with large rooms.

Let me first start by saying I’m from the United States and things are different there but with that said, this hotel is in need of a refresh. It’s an older hotel that is outdated. It needs new flooring (carpet/tile), a fresh coat of paint, and some new decor. One of my biggest complaints is trying to get to your room is like going through a maze. We stepped off the elevator, took two steps and had to go down a couple stair steps (carrying our 50lb luggage) then around a corner, up to more stair steps , down a five foot hallway then back down three more stair steps and this continued until we got to our room at the very end of a very long maze. I’ve never seen this type of layout that involved up and down 2-3 stair steps on a hotel floor (the second floor to be exact). It made getting our luggage to our room difficult. There were no wash cloths or hair conditioners available, but this appears to be a “Scotland” thing and not necessarily a hotel problem Multiple stair steps to get into the hotel and again this was difficult with luggage. Very limited parking! Again, this appears to be a Scotland thing in that some hotels don’t have ANY parking. The staff were amazing. Very helpful and nice. Overall, because of all the inconveniences, we would not stay here again.

Excellent couple of days at the hotel

The hotel was very clean, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the food and facilities were excellent. The hotel had secure parking and was well located for local amenities and site seeing.

This property was in a great location next to the park and main shopping and dining area. A little separated from the busier area, but still walking distance from everything. Check in was easy. Paid £16 for parking. Luckily, we didn’t have any issues finding a parking spot in their busy parking lot in front of their hotel. The room was clean and updated. Only complaint was that the faucet had two different nozzles; very hot or very cold water, nothing in between. Provided waters and traditional Scottish snacks in the room, which was nice. Espresso maker was a plus. Only complaint we had was that we had to take stairs from the elevator to get to our room, which was difficult with our very heavy bags. It was a strange Alice in Wonderland stairs situation. Other than that, it was a great stay!

We really liked our stay at this hotel just opposite the Meadows and near lots of nice shops and cafes.

Really nice location lovely hotel

The hotel itself is charming and well done and clean. The breakfast available is great. Our only complaint is there is no refrigerator or microwave in any rooms. It’s a good walk to the Royal Mile (a mile maybe) but it is not a difficult walk and we did it many times in the course of our 12 day trip.

The room was fantastic, staff were all very helpful. Its location is fantastic and has some onsite parking, available for a fee.
