Disappointed that the additional cost for the spa and gym facilities was so well hidden on the website that i had to pay an additional £14 per person to use them whilst we were there. The hot tub isn't surrounded with marble, like the photos suggest. when asking how to use the steam room, as was informed..... it's dodgy so you'll need to use the sauna instead. one is better for breathing (steam room), and the sauna is better for sweating out. As someone with asthma, the steam room would have been useful. i completed the medical declaration re conditions before using the gym.. nobody asked if i had my medication etc. and had i collapsed or similar, they would only know who i was and what care may be required, if they memorised my face,, the hotel was clean and tidy, but the greeting wasn't hugely welcoming.. i would have expected "good afternoon sir, how can i help?", rather than "checking in?". the lady must have assumed i wasn't worthy of staying there as i was dressed in jeans and tshirt rather than a three-piece suit.. despite the fact, affordability isn't an issue, i felt second rate. the shower took about 8 minutes to get warm, and the shower gel in the room was barely enough to do one leg. the window in the room didn't open, though there was a fan. A cool room, but noisy as the fan was so loud. bed too hard - but that's a personal preference. unless there were to be an offer of a gratis-stay to make up - i wouldn't visit again Very disappointed.

Old property with lots of character. Very clean. Friendly staff. Plenty of parking and lovely grounds. A golf course is available

We were in a disabled room. Same one we stayed in last year. Very good, excellent big bathroom for less able, plenty of rails to hang on to. Sink a bit small with too low tap. Room comfortable. Small tv and furniture could do with updating.

Stayed one night. Were very accommodating when we had a late check in. Friendly staff. Lovely breakfast, if a little costly. All in all very happy with our short stay. Ample parking.

No aircon in room on hottest day even though this was requested. I was informed that I had not booked early enough booked two weeks earlier. Only one small fan available. Shower was cold even after playing around with it for 15mins. No water at reception till after breakfast?

Very nice and helpful staff. The bar was nice for night cap, breakfast buffet didn’t look great and went to golf club for brunch which was reasonable.

Cave Castle is a beautiful property, with its historic charm carefully preserved. The building and surroundings create a lovely and unique atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was very good, making our stay even more enjoyable.

A nice hotel located in beautiful grounds. I can only comment on room as we did not eat and had minimal contact with staff. Room was vary clean and comfortable and very quiet. Good VFM. I would certainly stay again.

All the staff we dealt with were polite,really helpful and nothing was to much trouble. The room we stayed in was really big, the beds were so comfy. Plenty of parking available. We paid the small amount extra to use the pool, steam room, sauna & jacuzzi, which we concidered good value for money. We also paid extra for the breakfast, which again was good value, with lots of choice. In the bistro you can have a choice of two main meals (excluding the steak, to be fair of which i wasn't bothered as i don't like steak), but plenty of other choices, together with a bottle of house wine for £39.95, we decided to opt for this, we were a bit wary as often house wines are not always the best, however one of the choices was a rose zifandel, which was really nice, again, good value for money. Excellent weekend & would definately come back.

We only stayed the 1 night as we were attending a wedding nearby, quick efficient and pleasant on checkin, room was clean and sufficient for our stay, would definitely stay again if I needed to be in the area.

We are regular guests and although the comfort of the mattresses vary from room to room and no one would disagree the shower valves are past their prime, everything else is great and we love the grand setting, quirky building, friendly and helpful staff, and the excellent breakfasts.

We loved everything the the cave hotel offered,this time we only had a one night stay and our last stay was quite a while ago but on returning we certainly where not disappointed it was special we had our evening meal with them and that was wonderful we couldn’t take breakfast much to our disappointment it our room was really clean and welcoming really quite special as was everything about the CaveCastle Hotel Well done to every member of staff
