The Grand on Macfie is well located for Devonport shopping and also for the Spirit of Tasmania Ferry

The ocean was visible from the room as was the Spirit of Tasmania when it docked. The staff was very helpful and friendly and breakfast was delicious. Staying at The Grand on MacFie allows immersing yourself in exceptional comfort for a reasonable price. When return to Devonport, will stay in The Grand as it was the high point of our lodging during our trip to Tasmania. Breakfasts are a delight, a five-star dining experience. It is convenient to the ferry terminal and a short walk to shopping and restaurants. Cradle Mountain and Narawntapu National Park are easily visited on a day trip.

Heritage features and great breakfast

The facilities were poorly maintained and it lacked hospitality. Many rules, but hardly any service or communication. The balcony‘s seating area was in an intolerable state, also there was a lot of dust everywhere. Considering the rate, Breakfast was not more than acceptable. In general, it is a great house with great potential, which should be better managed, but for that we feel that more staff would be needed. Very comfortable beds!
