Very reasonably priced large hotel room. It had kitchenette and washer/dryer. Staff was helpful and spoke enough English for us to communicate well. There are many nearby restaurants and convenience stores. Buses and train in walking distance. Room was tidied every day. Elevator needs new carpet. Only Japanese breakfast is served. And they still use room keys, which I haven’t seen in easily 30 years. All in all, a great place to stay.

Wonderful tucked away self catering room with a washing machine/dryer. Opposite a temple- Toji temple! We loved it here!

Great staff. Clean room. Nice japense breakfast. Right by Toji Temple which is very nice site and very easy to get into the city by bus or taxi. Walked from bullet train but can take a quick train to Toji station and walk 5 mins to hotel. Glad we stayed here

This one is a hidden Gem Location: - If you love Japan's culture or Asian Religion this hotel is for you. It's situated right next to To-ji Temple, and you could literally go up to their garden roof to get a view of To-ji Temple across the street. And the nearest subway station is 5-10min walk. It's very convenient. Staff: - They are professional, friendly, and kind. Most of them speak English, so there will be no communication issue. Room: - I got a room with a kitchen and washer/dryer. Very family-friendly. They organized it pretty well. Make sure you ask for a room away from the street. The street in front of the hotel could be really busy at times. Overall, it's what you expected for a hotel room. clean, organized, essentials are ready to go. One surprise was that they even have kitchenware for you. again good for a family with kids. I'd say this hotel is really amazing. The theme is a Zen garden, very culturally oriented. I would definitely recommend it for families who are traveling with kids or couples.

Zimmer war sauber und groß! Der Blick von der Dachterasse auf die Stadt und den Tempel sind besonders nachts fantastisch. Personal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Ausstattung war ausreichend. Der TV ist leider nicht so gut. Es kann im Winter etwas kälter in manchen Bereichen der Zimmer sein, weil die Zimmertür quasi draußen liegt und dementsprechend nicht vor Wind geschützt ist. Das ist aber meckern auf hohen Level. War vollkommen zufrieden mit dem Hotel

Beautiful classic architecture and landscaping with koi pond. Very clean, comfortable and delicious vegan bento box. Staff were all very helpful. Wonderful way to fully experience the uniqueness of Kyoto.

We loved our stay at the Sunrise Suites! It felt like a real oasis in the city. Granted this is in a quieter part of Kyoto but it still felt very tranquil, set back from the road and with lots of nature incorporated into the design. The hotel is very convenient to a bus line that goes into the main parts of the city as well as just a quick walk from a train station. All of the staff were very helpful. The daily breakfast was absolutely delicious! Very comfortable room. Also a beautiful view of Toji Tower from the balcony! Highly recommended.

Very comfortable with a washer/dryer in the bathroom. Beautifully decorated room. Across the road from a picturesque pagoda. Fairly close to Kyoto station but a long way from the main tourist areas: it took us 40 minutes to get to the meeting place for our walking tour of Gion. The sliding panels let through lots of light so you may need an eye mask. Excellent staff who were kind and helpful when I was unwell.

良かった点 ・朝食の湯豆腐弁当がアツアツで、良い朝食を頂けた ・お風呂に洗い場があるタイプ、とても広く2人でゆったりと入れた ・今回使用しなかったが、部屋にキッチン、洗濯機がある、準備をすれば使うのおすすめ ・屋上から見える東寺は素晴らしいの一言、夜のライトアップがおすすめ ・フロントのスタッフさんは日本人ではなかったが日本語が非常にうまく、対応も素晴らしかった ・ホテル外にすぐコンビニあり、バス停もあり 悪かった点 ・部屋と廊下の壁と窓が薄く、外の声が気になる 特に廊下に喫煙所があるため、部屋の割り当てにもよるがその近くだと内外の会話が通ると思われる 総じて、リピートあり

Sunrise Suites is comfortable. The staff is friendly. It's a beautiful property complete with a zen sand garden in the courtyard area. Plus, it's only one train stop from Kyoto station. The location, comfort and aesthetic was exactly what I was looking for. I would stay again!

Lovely Japanese style hotel with friendly and attentive staff. We enjoyed the complimentary Japanese breakfasts daily that were delivered to our room at a time we chose. Rooms were immaculate and cleaning done daily with fresh towels. Enjoyed looking at the koi fish and beautiful views of the pagoda from the rooftop garden. Very convenient to train station and restaurants. Highly recommend!
