I grew up in Salem and there’s not much of an option available. Came into town for a funeral. The Cottonwood has a history of not being the best. But I was pleasantly surprised! For the rate you are paying it was actually pretty great! Room was clean and ready at arrival. Linens were nice, bed was comfy. I chose the room with a kitchenette and it suited my needs. Breakfast provided, small but adequate. I would gladly stay here again.

For the price, this was a great stay… we just needed a bed for the night, and having breakfast ready in the morning was a bonus!

We checked into motel only to find live bedbugs! We went staff and showed them the bugs and they didnt want to believe us at first , they did finally admit it was indeed a bedbug and switched us to another room. We had no choice but to stay there as there was no other openings anywhere and nothing under 40 minutes away , let alone it was after 10 pm in the evening . We had just finished a full days travel and were exhausted. We were highly disappointed

Thankfully, I always check rooms at all places my family and I stay in prior to taking in any luggage, etc bc my kids and I were unable to stay at the cottonwood inn as planned due to a huge presence of flies throughout the room when we walked in, bedbug feces on both boxsprings and a cockroach crawling on the wall behind the door as we were leaving before even being in the room for 5 mins. I have rightfully so asked for a refund and even tho I have pics to prove the presence of the bedbugs and the cockroach, I have been denied a refund from hotels.com bc the owner of the Inn will not respond to any messages or calls sent by hotels.com or myself to verify that a refund can be given bc it’s at their discretion, although the woman working when we left said hotels.com would have to issue the refund. Do yourself a favor and don’t book a room at this place and if you do, check the room out WELL before taking anything in! Due to the room being infested, my kids and I had to drive an additional 30 mins after driving all day on our first day of vacation to find another hotel, which cost me another $150 I wasn’t planning to spend on our family vacation.

Beds were clean which is my main concern. Was glad about that. Rest of the room could be cleaned better. Under the beds were pretty dirty. Just some more fine tune cleaning and bits of updating would be what could be better. Front dest lady was awesome! Very kind and helpful. Would stay again for the price.

Friendly, quiet, clean, and laid back

The first room we were put in, the refrigerator was barely cooling our perishable items. The air conditioner was barely cooling the room. Bathroom was dirty, with stains in the tub, and the floors throughout the room was dirty. There was a smell in the room. The door was hard to open when we first went in, and it didnt fewl very secure, with only a chain to secure the door. The bottom part automatically locks when you shut it,but it still didnt feel very secure. Stayed 2 nights, but after 1st night, we contemplated getting a refund & finding a different hotel. Thwres not many options in the area. We talked to 1 lady working that day who was cleaning rooms, mentioning the poor conditions. We slept poorly 1st night &woke up sweating because of the a/c. It looked as if it was broken on vent. The curtains hung down from the window above it, partially covered the vents. I made sure to move the curtains out of the way. The other rooms she showed us werent much better than the 1sr one. Some had no refrigerator at all, & others had refrigerators that were the same as the 1st room. Finally found one that was better, but stilll was not that great but the a/c worked much better and the refrigerator worked a little bit better as well. The showerhead was really low and made it uncomfortable taking a shower, it drained slowly and the water pressure wasnt great. The breakfast was not great either, not much of a selection:bagels, toast, dry cereal, oatmeal packets, milk ,OJ, and coffee

The extra large and deep jacuzzi was heaven after being on my feet for 12+ hours! & the staff were incredibly helpful from helping give me directions every 20 minutes or so bc i wasnt local round there and my gps just gave up on me! I will definetly be back to these clean beautiful and absolute treasures these rooms andntheir staff are ! And i love thatbits up on a hill, kinda. Feels more honey somehow, idk! Older but fine for a few days

It was an older property, but it was clean and a great place just for a few days.

Nice clean little place. Comfortable bed home like room. A little traffic noise but. Not bad. , woùld stay again.

Horrible room!! So not believe the gods reviews. Large black spiders, a fist sized hole in the wall, carpet filthy and torn, the smell of the room was nauseating, one light didn't work, the tv wouldn't come on and stains on the bed. We left without staying.
