Great location, lovely pub, friendly staff and a nice breakfast

Terrific breakfast. We had a meal on Saturday evening which was also excellent. Bar was nice and buzzy and the service was first class. I’ve read a few reviews about the challenges with parking but it’s no more than several minutes away from a large and inexpensive car park. Room could do with a bit of TLC but given the price was very good value for money.

Helpful frendly ,welcoming staff.Large room(althogh a little dark) Sadly, there appeared to be no hot water available in our bathroom on our first morning,(despite running the hot water tap for about 10 minutes),so we were unable to take advantage of the wonderful looking freestanding roll top bath. On our sacond morning, this had been resolved ,and there was plenty of hot water to be had. The downstairs dining/drinking areas offer a quirky blend of old and new features alike,which adds to the character of The Swan inn The Food/restaurant menu,(although slightly limited, in our opinion )turned out to be of good quality,and represented excellent value for money,and the portion sizes are as stated are indeed"large plates"!! My wife and I were impressed by the free(on the house )addition of a side of Broccoli in cheese sauce ,and the tot of Limoncello,at the end of our meal.A welcome and unexpected personal touch,for which we were grateful. Breakfast on both mornings was good ,with an excellent choice of hot cooked food. Overall ,a pleasnt stay ,which made our time down in the Midhurst/Chichester area more bearable,since our trip was funeral based. In conclusion, if you are looking ,for somewhere central to stay,with good honest hospitality, food, drink, and character, then The Swan inn and Hotel in Midhurst is to be recommended

Thank you for the hospitality, great service and excellent breakfast! Room 5 is a bit noisy being on a corner and above the bar but the price is right.

The landlady was rushed off her feet but still made us feel welcome and valued. We were offered the full memu even though the kitchen was about to close. Lovely atmosphere in the pub. Large open fire and lots of local hostorical images to look at. Definitely coming backnagain

Room really cosy and clean affordable room in a busy local pub . A fun bath , but don't to draw the blind 😅. Landlord andStaff couldn't be more helpful. Pub breakfast great.

Lovely location in a very old pub. Bedroom with a four poster bed looking out to the local church. Food was fantastic and the staff extremely helpful.

Lovely quiet room, comfortable bed, plesant staff and great breakfast in cafe opposite. Midhurst a charming and friendly place to visit.

Room was lovely and clean. Bathroom wasn’t quite as glam as the bedroom, more basic.

Wonderful friendly team who are credit to owners, as they said what great people they were and how they enjoyed working for them :) Beautiful room which was spotless, bar area had a cosy feel, with great service and games! Breakfast was perfect too, could not fault and will definitely stay again x

Great little village great satay will stay again

A cute pub with a bit of edgy decor. We stayed just 1 night but didn’t dine there but instead found a table in the bar for a drink. It was very busy on a Saturday night, obviously the most popular place in the town.

Right nice place to stay! Very old pub with rooms, quaint, and the food was all excellent! Ita not a luxury place, I’d give it an 8.4 overall, but the price was right and we loved it.

Wonderful hotel in beautiful old English town! Parking is a challenge but we were lucky! Staff greeter was exceptionally friendly and helpful. No elevator (lift) so prepare for spiral stairs! Food was absolutely first-class as was the service. Highly recommended 👌

A great overnight stay in a friendly pub. The room was spacious and very clean and the inclusive breakfast was excellent. The cooked breakfast was one of the best I have had. The staff were great and very helpful - nothing was too much trouble.
