The property is very unique -room was gorgeous with beautiful high decorative ceilings but miserably hot ( I specifically chose a hotel with a/c!),
I went to the desk twice- once at 5pm and then after we returned at 11:00. I was assured that they "turned it on" and that it would cool off.
The next morning, after having to sleep with wet towels to keep us cool, I went to the Front desk for the third time and she told me she could see that my room was 24°C, and that the air was not working.... she graciously moved us to a new room which she showed me was the same as the one we had (it was not, but it was also nice ) and our second night was good.
Breakfast was lackluster- the pastries were stale and clearly store-bought
The bartender Manuel was the highlight of our trip- he is a true artist when it comes to cocktails, creating two different craft lbelbda for each of us ( one for an apertivo that was so good we went back for a nightcap!
Upon checkout, I asked them for a discount in the rate for just the first since there was no AC and they told me that they upgraded me when we switched rooms so they couldn't (wouldn't) offer a discount. I did not ask for upgrade and the room was exactly the same size, but a different configuration with no extra amenities. ( not even free water!)
Overall, the staff was very good and helpful and the rooms big and beautiful, but claiming they upgraded my room as a reason for not discounting a miserable night left a bad taste.
