A charming and serene place. Lovely staff. A haven above the madness that is Kandy!

We had the most wonderful stay at the Coffee Bungalow. The building, which has been beautifully restored and appointed, sits in arguably the best location above Kandy and the warm and elegant hospitality was memorable. We cannot recommend more highly! I was shocked to see a negative review in my name which most definitely did not come from me. Beware of hacks.

Awful experience. It isn’t a hotel of any kind. You basically stay in a bedroom in the owners house. No phone, no room service, no tv, no minibar but an empty fridge. No restaurant, or cafe. Owners kept trying to make us and built us to eat there but there wasn’t a restaurant or menu of any kind and when they offered to cook us dinner we asked how much and they said $150 and didn’t evening say what we would get for that. When we said it’s ok thanks we are going to eat out they pressured us to say they had already made it. What I don’t know. In the morning they knocked on our door and said what time you coming to breakfast and what do you want? We had only just got up and didn’t know the timings for breakfast or what was in menu. There was no tea or coffee in the room. We had to go downstairs and pretty much beg for a coffee. The price we paid £400 is ridiculous for a room in a house. We paid it because we thought it would be special for Christmas. How wrong we were. Couldn’t wait to get out of the place and we were only guests there. Would never ever recommend this house, unless you like to feel uncomfortable.

Beautiful colonial property, from the rooms to the décor, that transports you back in time. It is very clean, cozy and feels like home. The property rests on top of a hill that over overlooks Kandy and the view is stunning (especially from the infinity pool). Further, the attention to detail, hospitality and professionalism of the owner and staff made this stay even more delightful. Highly recommended to anyone traveling to Kandy looking for an unforgettable experience.

A gem of a place - everything was delightful, from the room, to the lovely infinity pool, the friendliness of the staff and their willingness to help, and the excellent food. We loved staying here.
