The Hurtwood Hotel is run like a B&B only. The bedroom, room 10 was good, the bathroom not so. Broken taps,cracked tiles and most of all black mould around bath which was quite thick. A good bleach and revamp is needed badly. Hardly any staff around you need to find one usually in the bar area. No room housekeeping unless it's requested which we did and it still wasn't cleaned, so after a day out we came back to wet towels, dirty cups etc, so had to find one of the elusive staff to get it sorted, which they did. Breakfast is ok but be warned tinned mushrooms! And no atmosphere at all in a chilly room. I think if you are a cyclist, or a serious hiker it might suit you. Not a cheap hotel and not a hotel experience.

Great location in the country side. So peaceful. Good atmosphere generally with plenty of bikers and walkers about. Comfortable well maintained rooms. Very helpful staff. For us food portions too large. We would have appreciated smaller menu size and higher quality.

I couldn’t recommend this hotel highly enough! The room was large and perfect for a family of 4. We loved the jet bath! Lovely amenities in the room, fluffy towels, and extras of anything you might need available in a communal area. The breakfast was exceptional and the staff were very friendly.

Had a great stay atvyhe Hurtwood. Found it by chance. Great village with plenty of walking direct in to the Surrey Hills as directed by the lovely lady who checked us in. Room very comfortable with fresh milk provided. We found the car park easy for a big car, but would not be so easy in season I think. Dinner in the bar was excellent and good portions. Breakfast cooked to order also great. Will go again. Thank you.

Room was a good space and the bed was huge. Breakfast looked delicious but did arrive cold.

Our stay at Hurtwood Hotel was great! Welcoming staff and excellent service! Lovely old Hotel with real character and charm. Our room at the top of the Hotel was quiet, clean, very comfortable, lovely views, great shower …. One of the best we have had in a hotel! Good coffee, tea etc and great king size bed! Breakfast was really good! and part of the price of staying which was a bargain ! The hotel is tucked away in a cute little village and very scenic… would look lovely in summer! For us it was a really good find and we would highly recommend!

Lovely old building, tucked away on some very small rural streets. I was contacted prior to my arrival which meant my dinner was already booked and I could just park up and be shown my room. Everyone I spoke to was not just courteous, but efficient.

Lovely large clean room with coffee maker and tea facilities. Very nice comfortable bed with high quality bed linen. We had a great stay and would be happy to return in the future.

We arrived about 6pm. We went through from the bar area to the hotel section and we’re very warmly greeted, given all the info and made to feel very welcome. The room was cosy and had good views out. The decor and particularly the bathroom needed a bit of TLC. It all worked but needed the odd bit of paint here and there and maybe new carpets in the halls. Breakfast was fantastic! Overall very good and great for the below average last minute price we paid. The location is stunning!

Clean, spacious and comfortable room. Friendly and helpful staff. Good food choices in the restaurant. Good, peaceful atmosphere. Free breakfast included, which was beautifully coked and presented. Overall a really good experience that we would happily recommend.
