The place to stay when visiting the area

Schon bei der Anreise wurden wir herzlich empfangen u. haben uns während des gesamten Aufenthalts rundum wohlgefühlt. Das ges. Personal (ob Rezeption o. Service) war ausnahmslos freundlich, aufmerksam + hilfsbereit. Begeistert hat das Frühstück: Individuelle Wünsche wurden mit einem freundlichen „Sure, no problem“ und Lächeln erfüllt. Auch Abendessen war hervorragend und geschmacklich ein echtes Highlight. Da wir nie wussten, wann wir abends zurück sein würden, wollten wir keinen Tisch reservieren. Trotzdem hat das Team alles möglich gemacht, sodass wir immer einen Platz bekommen haben. Das war für uns alles andere als selbstverständlich. Auf Allergien + Unverträglichkeiten wurde jederzeit Rücksicht genommen und die Gerichte entsprechend angepasst. Unser Zimmer war sauber und ordentlich. Während der Hitzewelle war der Ventilator eine große Hilfe. Auch die Parksituation war hervorragend. Wir fanden immer problemlos einen Stellplatz. Das Hotel verfügt über keinen Aufzug, dafür wird das Gepäck bei An- und Abreise aufs bzw. vom Zimmer getragen. Ein toller Service. Wenn man uns fragen würde, was man noch optimieren könnte, dann wäre das die Dusche. Das war tatsächlich der einzige Punkt, den wir als verbesserungswürdig empfunden haben. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen und würden jederzeit wiederkommen. Wer hervorragendes Essen, außergewöhnlich freundliches Personal und eine familiäre, herzliche Atmosphäre sucht, ist hier genau richtig.

Lovely place to stay to visit Snowdonia, the restaurant in the pub is great and the staff very helpful. The town is very picturesque.

An impressive looking, quaint hotel in a beautiful setting overlooking the river. I loved the size of our room and the windows overlooking the river. Dinner and breakfast were both good and servers weee delightful. The shower was so sparse it was hard to get wet, and there was not a level floor in the place. No lift - but I don’t mind stairs. Well furnished but all pieces are showing their age.

Lovely hotel and very helpful staff.Food fantastic but breakfast on the last morning could have been a bit better .A lack of fruit,yogurt and dare I say it Welsh cakes compared to previous day.Overall though will be returning.

The building has some “charm” to it (the bed moved when someone walked along the corridor outside) but is clean, tidy and slept really well. Music on the Saturday night was great and restaurant food was fantastic. Staff are A+, mailed me my sunglasses that I forgot in the room. Thanks for a great stay!

The location of the historical hotel makes it the perfect place to stay. It is convenient to the local sights and shops.

Great base for the weekend Friendly staff and very clean

Perfect location, beautiful property with great amenities. Staff were polite and very helpful. Room was tastefully furnished. Shower was hot and powerful. Cleaning staff arrived promptly and did an excellent job. Only minor criticism was cooked breakfast was served whilst I was eating first course which meant I had to eat quickly or risk food being cold. That said, food was delicious. Highly recommend and would definitely stay here again.

Room wasn’t what we expected for the price. Really needs some modernising. Unfortunately parking can be abit tricky and the hotel don’t have any reserved spots which ended up leaving us nowhere to park one day.

Clean room, good shower, a drying room, excellent breakfast and very helpful staff. Everything we needed for a walking weekend.

Stayed in a twin lodge room. Overall the room was clean comfortable and well maintained. The hotel had a lovely restaurant and bar area and is well located in the town centre. I was disappointed with a few things however and expected more for the price of the hotel: The breakfast costs £15 and the portions are very small with a limited buffet option. The breakfast staff were not particularly welcoming and got the order wrong on both days we stayed. I recommend not paying for breakfast in advance to keep your options open. The single beds in our twin were very small. Narrower than a standard single and the mattress were not very supportive so I didn’t get a great nights sleep during my stay. Overall disappointed with my stay and think there are better value options available.
