Excellent location, very friendly staff, breakfast was a bit basic (could have a better choice of cereals), good value for money

Quaint hotel in beautiful village. Family run business giving a delightful caring welcome. Nothing is too mich trouble. There is a small car park which is free to use, and hotel is situated in quiet street and not difficult to find. Comfy bed and thoughtful facilities in rooms. Guests are provided with a fridge and microwave and complimentary breakfast of orange juice yoghurt cereal and toast which you make at your own convenience in your room. Shower worked well, there was ensuite toilet, towels and toiletries TV also provided and tea/coffee making. Hotel is quaint with dated fixtures and fittings but in the best way! I would rsther stay in a hotel like thid with character than in a modern ' hain' hotel where all rooms are identically boring! The hotel is ten minutes walk or 4 minure drive from Stamford Corn Exchange Theatre which has some excellent music gling down! Stamford in itself is as piece of Old England thays is rapidly (very sadly) disappearing.The people are friendly and welcoming and the town is clean well cared for and certainly worth a visit. Interesting shops and restaurants amd a beautiful old chirch with 'time worn' steps from the footfall of history.

The hotel is very quirky , liked the continental breakast provided in the bedroom . Proprietor was very helpful and friendly . Good parking available .

Very comfortable with a home-from-home feel. The owner was super friendly and helpful. The breakfast range was excellent. The room was a good size with good facilities.

Very central, helpful owner, parking is possible very nearby, but not plentiful in a town with a street plan from the17th century. A large paid parking lot is 250 metres away. A DIY breakfast of cereal, yoghurt, and toast with many toppings, is in the fridge. Pull the cord to activate the shower.

This property is a little gem in Stamford. Nelio is the most genial of hosts. Perfectly situated for the town and Burghley house. Nice little restaurant attached to the property too.

Once we rang the phone number on the entrance door the owner came and checked us in and was friendly the location was good to get around The bathroom had been refurbished so was nice We stayed in room 8 a twin room Be careful of what you need from your stay as no bar or restaurant was open Breakfast left in your room to eat but nowhere to sit and eat it The fridge was old and dirty ( I have pictures) collected dirty water in a tray over night as freezer compartment were broken (photo) Matttress was old and dirty (photo) Walls and ceiling damp and mouldy Light outside our bedroom door didn’t work And it goes on … Not a good experience and would definitely not recommend

2 ieme étage pas d’ascenseur, escalier environ 60 cms de large. Pas d’AC, il faisait au moins 32 dans la chambre. Pas de douche seulement un bain dangereux. Parking très difficile. Déjeuner vraiment de base.

Very helpful staff. Hotel gave vibes of faded glory. Breakfast was in the fridge in the room which was a first for me. There weren't any chairs in the room to sit and eat it though.

The host was amazing, very gracious and friendly. He really contributed to the wonderful time we had in Stamford. Highly recommended.

Smallest single room ever ! No breakfast downstairs - limited choice in the fridge. Found the stairs a challenge.

The location is absolutely spot on for visiting Stamford. Stamford is wonderful,lots of interesting shops,eateries & pubs. Property has a small amount of parking,but there is also a huge town carpark just round the corner which cost us £5 ( Saturday 9 am - Sunday 10am) The landlord was fabulous,he gave us a super welcome (homemade elderflower fizz - lovely) He even took our bag up the (many winding, narrow) stairs & when we came back from our evening we had a few drinks together & what an interesting man with fabulous stories to tell! The building is very old ( 300 years) & as the owner says himself as it needs much attention & looking after. The breakfast is in your mini fridge. Includes cereal,milk yoghurt,tea,coffee,orange juice,bread,jam etc…toaster & kettle in your room. It was a a great place for a one night stay & we were made to feel very welcome.

Well located a few minutes walk from the town centre with limited on site parking. Manager was not there when we arrived so had to phone and wait outside while he drove over. Room was very small and very dated. Bed really uncomfortable. Shower room tiny as well. Bizarrely breakfast was in the room (box of cornflakes, milk, yoghurt) and not that enticing

I chose this hotel based on the pictures, description and reviews I saw thinking it was a nice small boutique hotel but I was totally wrong. To say the room was the worst I’ve ever stayed in is an understatement, very dated and shabby with wood chip paper but one wall was simply plywood boards. The bathroom hadn’t changed since around 1979 and the shower produced a dibble of water! Nice greeting and decent location etc but extremely poor all round, will not be back and not sure my wife will ever forgive me!

It was an old characterful building with many original features. It was evident from the certificates and photos around the place that it had been a hotel & restaurant of note with award winning credentials. It isn’t a shiny glitzy hotel but equally the decor was quite tired and patched up in places. The room itself was perfectly adequate and had everything I needed for a very short stay with a newly fitted ensuite. The landlord was very helpful & friendly and went the extra mile to accommodate any requests. It’s worth noting that I arrived late and had to leave early the next day so it suited me. The rate was also very competitive and I had everything I needed.

The host was very accomadating and helpful.Parking a bonus in Stamford.The continental breakfast, with fresh bread, milk, fresh fruit was a excellent.Lovely, old building with plenty of character.Looking foward to our next stay in lovely Stamford.

Landlord was great, a real nice guy

This was good value for money. Right in the center of Stamford, so very convenient. The room was clean, beds comfortable, very quiet. Breakfast selection was good and the staff very helpful and friendly. Parking at the hotel was limited but we got a space. Very satisfied, look forward to a return visit to try out the restaurant which was closed on this visit.
