Wonderful Stay, Excellent Service and Comfort in the Heart of Florence Our stay at Hotel San Giorgio was truly exceptional from start to finish. The professionalism and kindness of the staff made all the difference—they were attentive and efficient. The location is absolutely perfect: just steps from Santa Maria Novella station and within easy walking distance to all of Florence’s iconic landmarks, charming streets, and excellent dining. One of the unexpected highlights was the bath tub in my room—a rare luxury in many European hotels. After long days exploring the city, it was such a joy to unwind and relax in comfort. Everything was clean, welcoming, and well-maintained, making this hotel a wonderful home base in Florence. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend it to both leisure and business travelers.

Perfect location for train travel, and getting around the city

Front of house are surly. The breakfast is poor, cheese had mould and the cappuccino undrinkable. The lady serving breakfast was delightful. The hotel is so tired it needs gutting and renovating. Our room smelt but to the eye was clean and the saving grace was the good, clean bed linen. On top of that it was incredibly expensive.

There was no ventilation in a bathroom. The room was somewhat dark. But it's a great location, close to the train station and walking distance to most historic attractions. Also, very clean, the room was made up every day.

Located in the heart of the food district, the hotel is very conveniently located within 10 mns walk of the train station. The plumbing is a bit old and I needed instructions on how to flush the toilet. A little upgrade on this is appreciated.. Staff is very friendly and I like the classic touch of the keys that have to be handed in at the desk whenever you leave and the carpet on each floor.

The hotel is very old, which, in our opinion added to its charm. The staff were pleasant and helpful. I would definitely stay in this hotel again.

The property is located about a 5 minute easy walk from the main train station. The entrance is at street level. There is an elevator. Front desk was friendly. I was able to scheming in early and store my luggage at no additional charge. Room furniture was old and worn but everything else was up to date. Would recommend.

Great staff, great location, we love it

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and well supplied, and the aircon units were great for the humid and warm days.

Café da manhã bem fraco. Inclusive o sabor e o cheiro da café ruins. Atendentes do café da manhã mal humorados.

Staff were so helpful. We did ask to be near the lift - and we were but there was still a lot of stairs to drag our suitcases up and down. Great location - close to the train station and you could see top of the duomo from our room. Great for meeting taxis as it was so close to a piazza. Easy walks to many of the major sights.

Good hotel but the construction right outside the front door made it very noisy and difficult going in and out

It was enjoyable. Close to a lot of attractions and close to the tramway. The hotel was accommodating and well. I just used it to sleep to sleep. There’s so much to do around the area that it made up for it.

Excellent service and good breakfast. However the building is very old and the room we got showed that. Didn't get cozy vibes from our room and shower wasn't great either (it was loose and couldn't control water direction).

If I could give this hotel 0 stars I would, the hotel is basic and that’s fine. It’s not the aged room and bathroom that’s the problem. The staff when I checked in was extremely rude, like an uncomfortable amount of rude and bother d by you. When I checked in they were very rude. I asked what the wifi was because the guy never told me and he says loudly and very sassy “it’s right infront of your face”. Like I’m supposed to know it was on the wall beside me in a small picture frame. I met with a friend here and we came to the hotel to drop off my stuff, and he was yelling at me and then her that she couldn’t stay here…I was dropping off my stuff, she was Italian and told him she was a friend and not staying, and he kept yelling. He was a P.O.S. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to someone I hated, stay somewhere else, everywhere I’ve stayed in Italy the staff has been incredibly friendly, this place makes you feel like a problem just for existing. Terrible place.

Convenient for access to city and railway/tram. Excellent value with 24 hr front desk. We had a very early flight and stored our luggage while exploring. Came back and chilled in their lounge until we needed to take the tram at 1:30 am. Sadly the airport was closed and reopened at 4 am. Oh well that’s travel, lol. Good value and would stay again, but we are budget travellers. Not posh but did the job well.

The hotel has a great location, making it easy to explore the area. The breakfast was excellent with a good variety of options. The shower had nice hot water, which was very refreshing. The only downside was that it got a bit noisy at night, but overall, it was a pleasant stay.
