Great stay. Andrew and Martin really good hosts. Really good breakfast-fruit very varied and fresh. Good selection of tea/coffee for room. Very enjoyable.

A lovely three night stay at Downton Lodge. Martin and Andrew are excellent hosts who ensure that they run a guest house with very high standards. Lots of details have been considered to provide everything one might need whilst away from home. Breakfast is cooked very well with high quality ingredients, and the hosts known the area in depth so that they can advise their guests of what to do and see. Overall, an excellent stay.

Beautiful house and hospitable owners. Everything we needed for a relaxing break, comfy bed, good shower delicious breakfast and many small unexpected touches too -such as fresh milk and chilled water in a mini fridge. Andrew and Martin were wonderful hosts, always happy to suggest restaurants and advise on the best routes to take to get to them. ..... not easy on the narrow Devon lanes!

We loved staying at Downtown Lodge. Set in the Devon Countryside just a short drive to Dartmouth the views are wonderful. Hosts Andrew and Martin were very friendly and welcoming and they provide a great breakfast. This is a very clean and comfortable place to stay.

Almost too good to want to share. An exquisitely presented, located and managed refuge in a lovely peaceful marine/ rural setting overlooking one of Britain's most beautiful river estuaries. Laid back, efficient, non intrusive owner management. You will relax! The best of British bed and breakfast hospitality Oh, and those breakfasts!

What a fabulous location matched only by the 1st class room we stayed in. Andrew and Martin were the perfect hosts and we will definitely be recommending this brilliant B/B to everyone. It’s the best we’ve stayed in. The beds are comfy, the breakfasts excellent and the room we had was everything you hope for but don’t usually get. Well done guys. We will definitely be coming back.

This B&B could not be set in a more magical place. Our hosts, Andrew & Martin, were so lovely and took such care to make sure we were comfortable and enjoyed our stay. I really hope we find our way back to this little paradise!

Had an excellent stay at Downton Lodge for 2 nights. Superb property and well appointed rooms. Whilst located down a working farm track and quite a walk into Dittisham this is made up for by the welcome and the breakfast. You do need regular use of the car. Would recommend and definitely stay again when in the area.

Cleanliness excellent, views superb, food first class. Can’t praise our stay enough.

Very nice B/B the staff there where really nice and friendly

Andrew and Martin were great hosts, made us and our dog feel very welcome, including dog bowl, treats and bed for our pooch! Andrew was very kind to cater for my vegan diet at breakfast, nothing was too much trouble. The property is very peaceful and relaxing with fantastic hikes from the door.

We stayed in the self catering apartment which was first class. Very comfortable and well equipped with great attention to detail. Very quiet and peaceful location with great views from the balcony (see picture). Hosts Andrew & Martin were helpful and friendly. Top marks all round.

Beautiful place tucked away in Devon countryside. Pleasant 45 min walk across fields and country lanes to Dittishham. Wonderful hosts, fantastic breakfasts. Highly recommended.

My husband and i stayed in the self contained property. It was absolutely perfect. everything was there to make your trip perfect. Beautiful views from double aspect windows. A balcony to have your evening wine or breakfast. Andrew and Martin beautiful Gentlemen. Always there if needed. Coming from Australia we stayed here 6 nights and it was heavenly. No negatives at all.

Beautiful house and location, with a great (if hilly!) walk into Dartmouth. Andrew and Martin were wonderful hosts, and made us feel very welcome and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely with plenty of options, cooked right in front of us in their amazing kitchen.
