Very clean room and around the place, breakfast was excellent

The staff were fantastic we arrived soaking wet after a 4 hour motorcycle ride in the rain. They let us put our riding gear in the boiler room to dry out overnight. Restaurant staff were great too Great big comfortable bed.

Property is dated, but well maintained. Our room was an accessible room so the bathroom looked like a hospital bathroom! Bar was nice and dinner easily accommodated for 6 people.

Good relaxing break. Good food also.

A wonderful old-style hotel, but well maintaned, friedndly staff, great restaurant, and handy for stays before/after ferry crossings. Seemed a time capsule from the era of mid-20th-centrury grand seaaide hotels real charm. Cateers to a lot of coach tour groups. In central Stranraer for some pleasant seasdie town strolling, dining, and shopping.

Our room was amazing. We had a balcony on both sides with great views. We stayed in a family room, and the children's pull-out bed was through an open doorway in a separate room. My only complaint is that the elevator (lift) is really scary to use and there are tons of stairs everywhere. Even on the floor of your room, there are 3 or so steps just to get up to the room. We also felt judged about our family's appearance when we went to dinner. The front reception ladies were kind, but the dinner staff was quite snooty.

Nice hotel but bad soundproofing in room 99 . Two nights without sleep because of the thin walls . First night next room 100 child screaming and yelling all night . Second night young men having a party all night from midnight to 6 am . Bathroom was old from the 1970s but staff were non binary and lgbt friendly. and room was nice

We had a great stay at NW Castle, it suit us perfectly as the kids were well entertained with the games room and pool. Our room was recently renovated and this was hugely welcomed as I had been expecting a tired decor. The hotel is full of charm and that added to the unique experience. All staff were fabulous and helpful. We will likely return for our next trip to Stranraer, thank you to the team.

The staff were extremely pleasant and check in was flawless, we received an obviously recently renovated room and was fantastic with very tasteful decor, the Bluetooth mirror was a great touch! We didn’t eat at the hotel so can’t comment on food, but the pints in the bar were good. There is a games room and it’s quite well stocked including snooker, table tennis and an indoor bowls mat! There is also a a seasonal ice rink used for curling which would have been great to see but obviously not in June! The only negative would be a slightly dated lounge/dining area but there does appear to be renovations being done. We only stayed for a night but wouldn’t hesitate to stay again as it fitted our needs.

Overall we thought the general standard was very good.The toasters were in need of update ie new elements.Food and sevice were excellent.Lounge area was very comfortable.If we had aproblem the swimming pool needed attention .The access rails were loose and there was no security rails on the sides and around the side to hold if a problem arises.We look forward to visiting again.The management were visible and helpful.A rare change in ythis modern world!

Overall we had a great stay. Hotel very clean, staff great. Our evening meals were excellent. The breakfasts were a bit of a disappointment. My order was bacon and egg. When i came it looked like the one rasher of bacon had been cut in half. Similarly my wife's poached eggs were garnished with half a tomato. One small point for a hotel of this standard the toilet paper was a very poor standard.

Overnight stay at this hotel en route to Ireland. Comfortable beds, enjoyable meal in the hotel restaurant and helpful friendly staff.

The food in the dining room was tasty, well-cooked and there was a good choice. All the staff were very friendly. All in all a very comfortable stay.
