I rarely leave negative reviews, but future guests should know about my experience.
During our 13-night stay, several aspects of this AC Marriott fell well below Marriott standards.
The hotel has two guest towers, each with two elevators. During our entire stay, one of the two elevators in our tower was out of service. We often had to use the emergency stairs or walk through the lobby to the other tower, where the only working elevator also served housekeeping and deliveries, causing frequent delays.
The lobby was left dark every night. The restaurant was a major disappointment: poor food quality and waitstaff who appeared inadequately trained. The parking gates repeatedly failed to open automatically, requiring assistance almost every time we entered or exited. Some carpets and floors throughout the hotel were also dirty and in need of maintenance.
I contacted hotel management before posting this review. They apologized, which I appreciate, and I hope they take meaningful action because this hotel has an outstanding location in Cayalá and the potential to deliver the quality experience guests expect from the Marriott brand. Unfortunately, these were not isolated incidents—they were consistent throughout our entire stay.. I WILL STAY AT THIS HOTEL NEXT TRIP TO GUATEMALA. It is the only one in Cayala which is the best sector to stay in Guatemala City. I accept their apology, sure they will improve soon.
