Wir wurden herzlich empfangen, in diesem kleinem charmanten Hotel in Hjelle. Gebucht hatten wir ein Zimmer im Nebengebäude, quasi ein Motelzimmer mit eigenem, ebenerdigen Zugang, mit traumhaften Blick auf den See und die Berge. Das Gebäude ist zwar auch alle, war aber renoviert und damit auf der Höhe der Zeit. Das Zimmer selbst ist eher klein, aber fein, mit ansprechendem Duschbad und einem guten Bett und alles ist sehr sauber. Das gute Frühstück, im Haupthaus, hatte eine kleine aber feine Auswahl und sehr leckeres Brot!

The hotel, staff, food and the VIEW was amazing. The rooms were clean and fresh. We spent two nights at Hjelle and we enjoyed every second. We will come back to visit Hjelle again in the future.

Quiet location, great scenery. Good food. For dinner, choice of eat at hotel, or at local place. At hotel, price was a little high, but good.

Lovely but old hotel directly at the lake, with stunning views. Evening buffet very tasty. Breakfast good.

This is my favorite place we stayed while in Norway. Would definitely go back and stay for more than just one night. What a lovely experience! Room was excellent and the view was outstanding! Life should be lived at this pace! Food was delicious and personable service was remarkable. Felt like family!!

It was nice and cosy apartment .

We (myself, husband and toddler) stayed for 3 nights in late May 2025. It was a last minute booking for an impromptu trip to Norway. We had no issues with late check in or late check out. The view and setting of this place are 12/10; the pics speak the truth! It is situated ~23 min from Stryn and ~60min from Geiranger. It was an excellent home base. The grounds are well kept. We stayed in the old historic building. It was a bit tight to leave the suitcases open and walk around in The Wilhelmina suite. The balcony had an amazing view. There was a mini fridge. No safe (no hotels on our trip had a safe). The springwater bathtub and heated bathroom floors were a nice touch. The bathroom curtains were shorter than the window and also sheer. Given that a small portion of the view includes a parking lot and the cafe, we did improvise by putting decorative cushions on the window sill for our comfort. The host was the most helpful person we have come across on a trip; he helped us make plans for all 3 days and they worked out for us. He helped us with alternative plans when it rained. We were going to run out of clean clothes and he was able to arrange laundry for us for a neglible fee. The breakfast was on par with similarly reviewed hotels in W Norway. Breakfast is held in a large food hall with views of the lake and mountains. They had toys my toddler loved. It is a beautiful family run place away from the crowds and with lots of character. Definitely a must stay!

We were treated very well. The scenery is so amazing. The morning breakfast just awesome.

Superb small hotel with very attentive and cordial staff. Very peaceful setting with nice walking options without using your car. Highest recommendation!

Nydeleg, roleg plass med flott utsikt, og hyggelig ansatte. God senger og god trykk i dusjen 👍👍 (vi budde i annexet)). Flott uteplass og hage. Muligheter å bade ute i bre vatn, eit badstue i annexet og eit fint sommarhus ved vatnet. God frukost, el- bil lader 👍👍🌸

In terms of the setting and the friendly welcome, this was one of the loveliest hotels I've ever stayed at. It's off the main road, right on the shore of the fjord, with sensational views and is incredibly tranquil and welcoming. I look forward to staying there again - I didn't want to leave

It is beautiful place.

Beautiful setting on the point of a lake with glacier capped mountains across. The room was great and the breakfast service included was delicious with lots of options. There is electric vehicle charging on site, too. I wish we had longer to stay in this beautiful location.
