A truly amazing experience.

A stay at Burghotel auf Schönburg feels like stepping into another century. The location is simply unbeatable: a real medieval castle perched high above Oberwesel with breathtaking views over the Rhine valley and the UNESCO-listed Middle Rhine. The Secret Garden is one of the most beautiful hotel gardens we have ever seen, perfect for a quiet moment with a glass of wine before dinner. The rooms are full of character, the staff is warm and attentive without being intrusive, and the breakfast is excellent. Walking on the castle walls in the morning with mist still over the river is an experience we will not forget. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an authentic, atmospheric stay in the Rhine valley. We will be back.

Das Hotel beeindruckt besonders durch die vielen kleinen liebevollen Details. Ein wahrer Gegenentwurf zu Luxushotels von der Stange. In jeder Ecke und Niesche gibt es etwas zu erkunden und zu entdecken. Es wird einem daher auch nie langweilig, auch wenn man das Burggelände nie verlässt. Ein besonderer Höhepunkt ist der Burggarten. Man kann sich dort auch die Zeit u.a. mit einer Partie Schach oder Boccia vertreiben. Die Zimmer sind alle indiviluell und mit Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Schon bevor die Reise überhaupt gebucht ist, macht es Spaß, alle Zimmer durchzugehen (empfehle dafür die Homepage mit 360 Grad Zimmertouren). Angenehm fällt auf, dass die Minibar kostenfrei ist und im Zimmer Obst und eine Karaffe Sherry (und genügend Gläser für alles) angeboten werden. Details, die einem das Gefühl wahrer Gestfreundschaft vermitteln. Das Personal ist äußerst freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die gesamte Atmosphäre ist ruhig, angenehm und entspannend. Die angebotenen Gerichte in beiden Restaurants bieten genug Abwechslung. Das Essen ist raffiniert im Geschmack ohne es zu übertreiben. Die Weine sind natürlich auch vorzüglich. Wie in jeder Burg ist es sehr steil und die Wege mit großen Steinen gepflastert. Eine gewisse Grundausdauer und passendes Schuhwerk ist ratsam. Taxis und Uber sind evtl. nur schwer zu bekommen. Falls man mit der Bahn anreist, sollte man sich frühzeitig darum kümmern, da der direkte Fußweg ein Wanderweg ist. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

なにもかもが素晴らしかったです。部屋も綺麗なだけでなく清潔で、食事も最高でしたし皆さんとても親切でした。 駐車場（≒タクシーが止まる場所）から受付までが石畳の急斜面ですが、事前にお願いすればそこから荷物も運んでもらえるようです。また、他の方も仰ってますが駅から徒歩で向かうのはかなり厳しいのでまったくおすすめしません。 今回は冬にお邪魔しましたが、次は違う季節にも伺いたいです。 素晴らしい経験をありがとうございました。

We have traveled all over the world and this is one of the most beautiful and romantic places we have ever stayed at. Right on the Rhine River, enjoying a drink on our balcony was awesome. The staff was incredible and the food was delicious! Can't say enough about this place.

We had a lovely 2 night stay at this property in the Standard Room, Bathtub (this little cottage-like room was beautiful and quaint and the bathtub was very, very nice). We had breakfast both days in the hotel and it was lovely with great options for food, great service, and beautiful scenery. On arrival, we were checked into our room quickly and they offered to bring our bags in. There were delicious snacks and drinks in the room for us to enjoy and great dining and drink options offered through the day (for purchase). We spent hours in the guest-only garden exploring and hiking, spent hours sitting out overlooking the picturesque Rhine River that runs through Oberwesel. On our second day, we had arranged for a wine tour through the hotel with a local vintner and would rate it 5 stars! We did not get dinner at the hotel but the views from the dining area are unmatched. Overall this was a fun and very unique lodging experience that I’d recommend for anyone to stay in! It did help that we had a car and drove ourselves from the Frankfurt Airport - very convenient to so so! We made a day of our travel out and stopped by Burg Eltz too to fit more in!

Fantastic dinner, great service and beautiful, scenic views. If you want to stay in a castle, or just looking for a luxurious stay, this should be your first choice.

If you get a chance to stay in a castle, this is it. The rooms are amazing and the views are the best. The service, the staff and the property were all first rate. I highly recommend!

How can I put words on THE most incredible stay of our lives? This Castle has it all. We stayed in the double tower romantic room 23 and it was amazing. The view was breathtaking, the service was unmatched. We arrived at almost 11pm at night because of road and weather delays and they were kind enough to let us in. Nothing was overlooked when staying in this place. If you can stay two nights, do so, or get there right at check in. The museum is free to guests and there is an incredible garden (that we didn’t have time to see because we were SO late getting in from constant rain on the road) the bedroom design really made you feel you were back in time, but with electricity and an amazing bathtub. Bubble bath, shampoo & soap were all there, plus drinks. The breakfast was unmatched. Plenty of photo opportunities and everywhere you look you see a historical presence perfected. Can not thank the hotel staff enough for the evening, only regret is getting there late. For those with access needs you can only take the elevator so far up, the tower has steep stairs and so does the museum** make sure to communicate with them if you require a room that doesn’t have stairs speak with staff before booking. Food: breakfast was stunning, you will not go hungry a buffet full of options and a staff that is traditionally dressed, kind and helpful.

ホテル自体はとても良かったのですが、行くまでの交通手段が見つからず、荷物を持って歩くには山道遠すぎました。

There were few restaurants and food liquor shops open near my hotel in staying. But it was a great pleasure to join the Rhine River cruse course.
