The host was friendly and informative she gave a comprehensive tour and detailed information . Sadly the room was tiny only big enough for a double bed and one chair, no wardrobe or hanging space . I’ve stayed in some small rooms in London ( where space is at a premium ) but this was the smallest double I’ve ever seen . There was no mirror in the room so could not do my hair as the plug was too far away from the bathroom mirror . The springs in the bed were atrocious kept making noise and we couldn’t turn the radiator on . The bathroom was very small . Whilst the shower cubicle was good there was no button on the toilet flusher and the shelf was missing from its brackets which kept falling off . On arrival there were 3 black hairs in the sink . Positives ..tea and coffee making facilities (and extras for refills too )water . However breakfast was extremely disappointing opened supermarket branded packets of pastries, meat, cheese, cerial no attention to presentation at all . It was a real shame as the place has charm and so much potential but just needs a overhaul to get it back to its former Four in a Bed standards …the pub downstairs is lovely .
