Could not find fault with quality of premises cleanliness and service Unfortunately more like a boutique hostel than a 3 star hotel No bar or evening meal which I would expect from a 3 star establishment

The location of the hotel was excellent, based within the small town with close proximity to all the local attractions. Staff were attentive and spoke perfect English. The bedroom was spacious, clean well provided and enjoyed excellent views towards the sea

We loved everything about our stay: check in/out experience, the kindness of the property owner, cleanliness of the room, our view, & the delicious breakfast in a cozy atmosphere! As we were doing a multiday hike, we appreciated the flexibility to have a luggage service drop off & pick up our luggage before/after check out. Thank you for our stay!

Das Guarda Rio ist eine kleine und sehr feine Unterkunft, sehr zu empfehlen. Wir hatten das Zimmer Nr. 7 im Dachgeschoss mit fantastischer Sicht auf den Fluss. Alle waren überaus freundlich und hilfsbereit, wir haben das besonders leckere Frühstück mit den selbstgemachten Konfitüren sehr geschätzt. Der kleine Frühstücksraum mit Terrasse bietet tagsüber stets Wasser, Tee, Kuchen. Eine Trouvaille mit viele Liebe zu Details, wo die Gäste herzlich empfangen werden. Danke für die wunderbare Gastfreundschaft.

What a wonderful small hotel! Although it is small in terms of the number of rooms, the room itself was a very nice size and the balcony was a real sized balcony. The hotel is immaculate! The bed was comfortable, the staff was extremely attentive to us, and we loved the breakfast . (Try both the tomato jelly and the pumpkin jelly. Excellent). The hotel is right in the middle of the town, which is totally charming, so everything is convenient to walk to. I would highly, highly recommend this hotel!

This is a great hotel. We stayed for two nights and got to relax and mill about the town for our first part of our trip in Portugal. The staff is lovely and will give suggestions on where to go and where to eat. You can walk everyplace in the town and to the beaches from the hotel but it is very quiet and you will get a good night sleep. There is no parking, but there is a free lot right behind the hotel that is easy. The town is very nice and lots of great restaurants and shops.

This is a small hotel with small rooms but they have everything you need. The staff was very friendly and they had complimentary cake and port to try before dinner. Close to lots of restaurants and the beach is walkable.
