I had the unfortunate situation when my Land Cruiser broke down in the challenging roads in Madagascar. I called Expedia but they were not much help. Expedia told the only way they could cancel was for them to contact the hotel. Knowing the challenges with calls in Madagascar, I told Expedia I would call myself as I am here in the country. Sandra answered right away and after I explained my situation told me she would consult with Oliver, the property manager the next day as it was almost 10 pm. All this was done 3 days before I was to arrived to the hotel with family and friends. The next morning I spoke with Sandra and she told me that Oliver approved my cancellation and she sent me a text to confirm our conversation. I submitted the screenshot of the text to Expedia. Expedia has tried to contact the hotel a few times with no success. I’m hopeful Sandra will read this review and contact Expedia to confirm they approved my cancellation. T h a n k s !!

The staff were great!! The grounds impeccable! The food was awesome! I hired a local guide for $200USD to bring me and stay with me as a driver for three days. Plenty worth it because as much as I drive internationally, this one would have been challenging.

Incredible place in tranquil surrounding and peaceful environment. Cottages are wonderful. Love the place and would stay again. My only recommendation is to fix WiFi as it’s very very slow.

The room was big with a seating area and it had a terrace. The beds was very comfortable. The dinner was very nice, the breakfast too (the take-away breakfast did not have the same standard) . The hotel had a swimming pool. There was only WiFi the reception. There was no heating possibilities in the room, and the room was cold (June). Tip: Visit Vakona and experience the lemurs come close.
