Having chosen to change plans on a road trip from Sydney to Adelaide, I found myself with a need to choose accommodation at the last minute. Realising it would be a stretch to reach Mildura before the late autumn sunset I stayed at Swan Hill to rest and recharge for the next day. The Travellers Rest was ideally placed behind the Commercial Hotel and conveniently located near both shopping centres. Being Friday, the hotel has a band but they were quiet after 11pm so not disturbing. Getting a spa room meant I could relax and unwind, as well as a comfortable night's rest. When I arrived an hour after my late booking, I was welcomed by friendly reception and directed to my room without hassles. Would definitely consider staying here again.

We got our request for a ground floor unit & the bonus was it was a family unit with plenty of space. It was so easy to walk through the back gate to the hotel for dinner as well. The meals at the hotel were very good

Was a great couple of days stay, hotel was clean, quiet and location was really good…also literally next to the pub so didn’t have to drive and food was also good…( at the pub)

Rooms were a good size with newly renovated and very clean bathrooms. Unfortunately our room was upstairs and very close to the neighbouring hotel which stayed open till 3am. The noise was unbearable. We put up with it on the first night, Friday. However when we returned to the hotel at around 11pm after a local wedding the noise was still very loud so we packed up and drive 2.5 hours home. A disappointing end to a nice weekend.

Being next to a pub with a band playing until after 1AM meant little sleep.

Unfortunately the lock and chain had been removed and left on the unit beside the door, so could not fully lock door from inside at night.

Clean tidy and cosy. Mentioned breakfast on website but not for a long time hmmmm.

Room itself was great, had a bit of noise from the commercial clubs live bands coming through until midnight. Would stay again, would just keep in mind the noise that could come through

We always stay here on our trip to the mountains and it’s so convenient with the kids to get food at the pub (attached), it’s basic and a bit old school, but clean and suits our needs perfectly, which involve not driving after long road trips

The bedside lights were broken. The only light, not a bright one, was just inside the door. The floor of the shower was very, very slippery. While certainly not dirty some areas could have done with a bit more attention.

The fan above the shower was leaking water from the ceiling which was very dangerous and it looked like it was going fall from the roof. Very hazardous!
