The Reservoir was an exceptional stay.
First and foremost the bed and bedding were the best I have had in many weeks (maybe nicer than my home). The linens were thick, soft and superb! The shower had endless hot water and the bathroom was designed well, Towels thick and large just perfect.
The staff were superb and so kind and accommodating getting us a motorbike, currency exchange and recommendations for food. Especially a recommendation for a drink with the great pub next door.
The owner is a French Gentleman named Quinten that is a chef. I had the pleasure to shoot the breeze with him for a couple hours. Super nice guy that cares about helping the people around the community. He seemed to have a kind soul but he’s still French :-) with a stoic look but huge heart. hHis food is spectacular.
The pool is absolutely beautiful as is the remainder of the boutique hotel! Proximity to the ruins is fantastic as is the distance to the night market and pub street.
You’re going to want to spend a good 4-5 days to see a good amount of the endless ruins and the markets/pun street. The restaurants located on the street are better than pub street other than Mesa which we liked a lot. If you can brave a motorbike definitely do it and explore the countryside around the temples. The sites are breathtaking. After 4:30 pm for Angkor Wat is spectacular as is the French restaurant up the street!
