This is a traditional English hotel, a bit fusty but we had a good experience. Check-in was a bit challenging as the hotel reception had left before we arrived in the evening and I was not able to access my email message with check-in instructions. However, we were able to work that out with a minimum of inconvenience. The breakfast was very good and the breakfast rook overlooked the Thames (basically a stream in Oxford). The bedroom was basic, but the beds were comfortable and there was plenty of hot water for the shower. The location by the train station was important for us and it was not a long walk into the centre of town.

Amazing location near Said Business School and ten minutes to downtown. My view of the river was priceless. The rooms are comfortable and quaint and breakfast was generous. Overall... Adorable. Staff were kind and helpful.

The room was clean and tidy, although the hotel is already a tad worn-out. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Basic breakfast, excellent service.

Had a wonderful nights stay at the River Hotel on a girls trip with a friend. Our twin room was clean, well kept and a great size with nice decor. We had a great little TV, ample power sockets, tea and coffee facilities and everything else we could possibly need. Nice spacious bathroom with shower gel, shampoo etc already supplied. Parking on site was great considering how difficult it is to find in central Oxford. The hotel was happy for us to keep our car parked there for the day after we checked out so could we could explore the city. Not something they had to do was greatly appreciated. Free breakfast was wonderful with a wide array of choices. The breakfast room is lovely with views looking over the Thames. I’ll definitely stay here again next time I’m visiting Oxford. The hotel was great, but the staff are what really make it. Thank you for treating us so wonderfully.

Breakfast was excellent.

A small old property with an excellent staff, a great breakfast area, clean rooms and very well located. Definitely, I will choose this properly next time.

9月に仕事で3泊しました。部屋の中は「親戚の家に遊びに行った」感じで、居心地良く過ごすことができました。 机は狭いですがパソコン1台広げるくらいなら問題ありませんでしたし、WiFiも問題なく接続できました。 宿の方も大変親切で、荷物が重かったのにも関わらず、3階まで上げていただいたり、近隣のスーパーマーケットやレストラン情報も丁寧に教えていただきました。 駅からも非常に近いので、次回Oxfordに行く場合もぜひまた泊まりたいです。 渡辺　拝

Had an unexpected stay in Oxford.for a night and was able to book the River Hotel last minute. This was perfect for a night stay. Clean cozy room. We had to leave early the next morning missing the includes breakfast. The staff left us a togo breakfast in the self serve bar. Very kind and thoughful.
