Basic but very spacious, clean room.

The rooms are incredibly tired and worse, dirty. I initially thought the room I checked into wasn’t ready as there was a bare doona on the bed without a cover. I realised that they only have sheets and pillowcase and the doona has no cover. I opened the fridge and immediately had to shut it because the of the smell of rancid milk. Someone has split milk and not been cleaned. The bathroom is tired and the shower sprayed water out the top of the fitting soaking much of the bathroom. The room didn’t look like it had been properly cleaned in some time. The table had a layer of thick dust. Was supposed to go back later this week for a second stay but cancelled. Very disappointing.

I will book again if a motel room is available but I won't stay in a hotel room

I won't return. The building and grounds need maintenance. The second time I went to book in the staffer was conducting a conversation on his phone the entire time. The reception area is now a store room so access to the hotel rooms is via the bottle shop.

Very dated and unmaintained. Half of the lights didn’t work. But you get what you pay for I guess

Room without toiletries, shower screen hanging, chair fabric filthy, all fittings tired, even 2 tvs sitting there. Rubbish strewn outside, car park a lake following rain. Messy inside and out. Lazy attitude by staff obviously working on a different planet. Stay elsewhere. Even $10.00 for a beer.

For the sake of a scrub of the shower and bathroom, this stay could have been quite acceptable.

Needed room upgrade on arrival photos on website misleading especially for the hotel rooms. Their motel rooms were way better. Air-conditioned. Roomy. Hotel room only had room for bed and very hot no air con or open windows.

The place is falling apart. One of the beds had been slept in. Rising damp. dirty carpet.

Very disappointed in our night here. Difficulty parking as cars haphazard in park. Lack of lighting at entrance was unsafe. Bathroom was dated & filthy. Cupboards with broken sharp handles & water damaged timber. Kitchen lacking crockery & utensils. Fridge very unstable. Bedding uncomfortable & although sheets appeared clean, hairs in the bed!! Ceiling water damaged looked totally unsafe. Room full of dead & live flies & mosquitoes. Definitely a disappointing experience.

Our first and last stay there. The room smelled like sewerage because of the bathroom drain. The smell lingered in the room at barely acceptable levels but was gag inducing in the bathroom itself. The beds were uncomfortable but clean. The shower layout means the bathroom floods but it was clean. It’s way too overpriced for what you have to put up with, even for budget motel standards.

While quite a dated unit, it was clean and the bed was fine to sleep in. Could have done with extra pillows as those on the bed were very flat.

No kettle teabags or milk. A dirty cup. The room smell was bad. No air-conditioning. Thses rooms should be half the price

Motel part was little tired could do with a spruce up. Light switches difficult to work out. Towel rail in bathroom part falling off

No Milk, no washing up liquid, minimally clean

Good basic accommodation. Convenient location for an overnight stay.

We stayed at the Hawker Hotel Motel while visiting the Ikara-Flinders Ranges National Park. The hotel is a bit rustic, but a great location. The staff of the hotel/bar/restaurant, especially Mike, was top-notch. We had a great meal at the restaurant and chat with Mike. Highly recommended!

Old place with a outback charm and the only pub in town. Good experience on the way to Flinders Ranges!
