The Guinness Arms had character rooms and the hallway was just as nice. Our room had aircon and also a skylight which had retractable blinds if you wanted to look at the sky or not. Room was clean and cosy with coffee and tea facilities. A bottle of water was also supplied with a selection of biscuits. Iron and board in cupboard for those who want to sort the creases out. Hotel was quiet and calm just the way we like it, we stayed in the week so not sure what it would be like at the weekend. Staff were welcoming and really approachable. In fact they were helpful information about the area for a day out. We were there for the Thetford music festival in the forest and the staff were passing on tips to help us enjoy the event. Did not sit in the bar much as the weather was so nice so drank outside in the rear garden where there were lots of tables and benches to sit at. We enjoyed the food and had both breakfast and dinner in the dinning room area where you could see out to the lawned area. Plenty of free parking space. It as been a while since we have been over this way but we look forward to coming back again. Bury ST Edmonds is about 20 minutes away and is a really nice place, the Abbey grounds are absolutely lovely and worth a visit, a joy to behold. Adorable hotel, lovely staff

Would have been perfect but the air con wasn't working and we had no hot water in the morning either due to a boiler issue.

Beautiful room, our mattress was comfy although there was roll together. Staff very friendly, we had dinner, unfortunately staff were not very attentive we had to get a member of staffs attention on a number of occasions to ask for extra drinks etc. we ordered some liquor coffees for after dinner only to find out there was no cream left, disappointing.

Great little pub with rooms, only down side I slept on the lower floor and big foot was in the room above and woke me up through the night.

As a solo female business traveller, I really appreciate when staff go out of their way, particularly in a busy restaurant. I felt totally comfortable at The Guinness Arms. The room was lovely, a little compact ( I enjoyed hearing the owl at night!) and had great facilities with a coffee machine but no kettle. Breakfast was a real highlight. EV charger worked and set me up with a full battery for the next day.

The room was comfortable, I had a good sleep, I arrived late, it was dark, I had trouble locating my room, no signage, and also trouble getting the key, there were no instructions by the lock.
